ARC, 09 Feb 2011I think this phone will be left behind by ATRIX and even OP... moreif you want to buy a phone solely just to play tegra based games like galaxy on fire 2, then by all means be our guest, get that atrix or O x2 youve been itching for. its not like your gonna miss out on all the psp games like god of war, metal gear, nba live etc. not to mention future playstation pocket games.

After the bad job on the x10i I expected more for £499. If it is going to be priced as high as the x10i for a games machine why not get a 360/ps3 and when I buy a new phone it will be HTC. I think that SE should offer a free swap from the x10i? Also I would love to know the real battery life of this phone including gps & sync apps running. 7 Hours standby 2 hours use??????

I think this phone is no good because imagine if the phone is broken or the ps controller broke, can it be fix easily like psp you can replace the control panel or the board not like the psp phone i think you need to replace the hole back of it.
Not like you have a phone and its broken you can buy a new phone or psp you can buy new psp, but the xperia play if it's totally broken you need to buy a new one.

battery is the most important of all if it wants users to talk and play. Original psp battery could be a start...

wow! very good se! really like it, i hope i can get 1 soon, but i dont have money haha..
ok i do love SE phones, but with the Xperia series, all the phones are touchscreen. i found myself not good enough in using them. i hope SE will make another series of Xperia phone without touchscreen, and with traditional keypad maybe?
well, overall VERY GOOD

Sony is creative to come up with psp4th or 5generation with phone what a good one but it is pity that the camera megapixel.........If sing were to have song s003 12 megapix cybershot that would be good

and it has the medium spec to target medium user..
like junior student wont be able to pay for super-expensive phone..
what they is a phone with price range that they can reach..
i like this phone, it has good spec,

It neeeds to be significantly well priced if it wants to be a hit. Experimenting with gaming cannot be compared to listening music. this phone will attract very few people as there are very few gamers in the world in comparison to music listeners. so SE must not think that it will be as big a hit as walkman...

Why is people comparing this phone to other phones. This xperia play is a gaming phone, made to play ps1,psp and older generation games to the fullest, hence the buttons! Nokia n900 is a different realm, galaxy tab is kinda big for pockets, and iphone is an iphone. If someone has the xperia play and another has a nokia n900 or an iphone and play play say snes super street fighter 2 or platform games like mario with similar skill levels, I'm sure more than 100% the guy with the se xperia play will win. Again with this phone you don't need to carry extra controllers because its their already.

Good try Sony. After Walkman success, now PSP phone will conquer the new generation. Other brand only do not have idea to make impact! Even this phone is full of weakness, but I think it's good try by Sony. Congrats

I think this phone will be left behind by ATRIX and even OPTIMUS 2X. Why? Compare the specs of this to the earlier mentioned phones, furthermore the games capable of running with tegra 2 phones perhaps can't render smooth movements when played on XPERIA PLAY. To be specific imagine putting the game GALAXY OF FIRE 2 in XPERIA PLAY. Why? Take a closer look at the specs again with tegra 2 capable phone.
My point here is that SE didn't maximize the the potential of Xperia PLAY. This phone is absolutely left behind when it comes to gaming vs the TEGRA 2 phones. Just like in a desktop computer, if you want to have a better gaming experience in your PC then installing the best hardware specs will be the right choice or else gaming experience will not be pleasant.
That idea is same with a gaming PHONE, BETTER HARDWARE SPECS the BETTER GAMING EXPERIENCE you'll get. And XPERIA PLAY failed to have that.
What's different with PLAY from other android phones is the playstation controls and thats all.
