I found the camera sensor of this device to be very acceptable, its almost as detailed as my Galaxy Nexus and work better under low light too, making it more practical. It just doesn't have touch focus, so you have to hold the shoot button to focus. The video recording have continuous autofocus.
Also it has great GPS/GLONASS signal and excellent sound quality. Would have been a perfect device if the CPU/GPU performance wasn't so crappy by today standard.

Hi,Im Edward Cameron, if you are planning to buy this phone then you shouldn't cause you cant upgrade it to ICS and it also does not have radio,its picture quality is not so good,it is not slim and its android version is only 2.3.4 (Gingerbread).I think you should buy xperia pro.

yes i know there's 'camera mod' at google play,but i'm using scripts that allows all camera apps to recognise L(focus) and R(capture)
already tested on Camera ZOOM FX(zoom capable),and even STOCK camera app works like charm on L/R mod.
try it be4 any speculation(s)
and of course,root is needed to access scripts,no need to change ROM.
n more conveiently,no need to use ANY MODDED app,stock is enough.

for now I can focus with L key and capture photos with R key
without messing up gamepad scripts

unlock your bootloader
4 u to install 4.0.4
then go to xdadevelopers.com,search xperia play.
follow instructions from rooting,boot unlock to installing your desired rom,such as Flyme OS,cyanogenmod,modded stock ICS beta 4.0
my favourite is MIUI rom 4.0.4,it can upgrade internal storage to 670MB
need some time to get used to,but its worth it.

So If you have xperiaplay that can zoom in stock camera absolutely your xperiaplay is fake.
