        So going through the comments basically both r800a and r800i can be used in India, for 3g as well I can get any of the 2 models right ? Also is there any significant difference between the two if anyone knows ?

          this phone is the best.. TERBAIK..!!! im sold my PSP GO for buy this thing..

          u must know what to do for the best experience u ever had for this device.. follow the instruction..

          1. root ur phone for the compatibility
          2. use link2sd and superuser for use ur external sd
          3. download ur games n software unlimited from blackmarket, panda, applanet or etc
          4. transfer all application from internal phone to external for better n smooth.. Done..

                  i own HTC phone before, i hate htc poor software update support and new software update cause device lag and not able to recover to 'good' version...
                  I buy this phone recently....i am surprise xperia UI is horrible if compare to HTC, ugly UI, missing useful menu compare to htc....touch screen response also horrible if compare to my htc legend and iphone 4s, always wrongly enter menu when i just want to scroll my screen....the UI and pre install app is horrible....OMG....

                            Sorry If I am asking too much . But could this ( someway work for Gsm networks in India or would it only be locked to mentioned networks ?

                              Also, Is there any place I can get an xperia play for similar prcie that I am getting at Amazon ( $ 230 ) . If I can then that would save me from waiting a month to get it when my friend arrives. Tnx :)

Are u using a cdma network of Gsm coz I heard somewhere sony made r800a for Indain and South American gsm markets and r800i for USA and Europe. Can anyone shed light on whats the difference between the two (if any ) and which model is better ?

                                Also I know Its Internal memory is really low , does it really hamper the performance of the phone ? My sensation 4g (which i loved) , was stolen last month so only reason i am getting this fone coz its cheap ( 230$ ) and I love old emultaor games . Although fone's specs are pretty outdated now. But i dont need Ics or Jb or all the bells and whistles so I am ok with Gb as long as games run well. Anyway , do u recommend this phone now taht u have been using it for some time ?

                                  I bought my Xperia play last December 2011. I was very eager to own this due to the touchscreen experience that the psp is lacking. Well, I had the best gaming experience of my life then (the wealth of controls: touchscreen, 2 responsive round touchpads!!!, PS keys, gyro sensors) until the flex cable gave in 7 months later (June 2012). I had it in my jacket on my way to work and then my bag slammed on it and from the sound I knew I nearly killed it. It's still on repairs and it's sorely missed. A lot of games I haven't played yet. I'm retiring it once I get a PLAY2 or Android PS Vita phone.

                                  I've accidentally dropped it face-down from a height of 2meters about 4 times with no apparent damage on the screen. However, the drops caused the chrome-painted Android keys below the screen to easily lose their shine over time. It takes away some off this beauty but it's nothing to complain of since I usually play in the dark.

                                  The screen is not Bravia and thus brighter and better viewing angles than Bravia-certified Xperia phones. I thinks some review sites forget about this benefit from non-Bravia screen. But it's still a pain to use in daylight..dim!

                                  The casing is of very high quality piano-black glossy plastic that don't crack. No complaints there.

                                  The loudspeaker is very good!! Not that loud but very clear. The video framerate is impressive.

                                  The 5MP camera is very good in daylight but suffers from RED-EYE in night mode and slow shutter speed. I still use my Nokia E72 preferrably in photos. But the Play is very good in capturing HD videos.

                                  Only complaints: Thick and Heavy. Game deck gets easily scratched by slide mechanism. Gingerbread. I'm not too eager to flash ICS/JB since these might kill the PS controls.

                                    i think its a fantastic phone and i personally love it, i just wanna know if it has the potential to play downloaded PSP games(from the playstation store) considering the fact that this came out after the PSP go

Good phone to get, a crowd pleaser with charming looks. just make sure u get a large memory card to go with it or else u cant have much games and end up failing to use the phone to its full potential. main drawback will be with the phone's internal memory though.
