I have this phone for more than a year,i can just say that is a prefect smart phone, the only problem with that is a very low quality plastic used to build the phone. I bought the silver as i heard that the black type gets dirty frequently and fingerprints remains on that and you should clean it many times a day, but now and after 18 months of using the silver color, it's color starts turning to white specially from the edges and i want to buy a black one, does anybody have the experience of black color?

jheeze, 19 May 2013I have recently got the xperia , at the beginning of the mo... moreSincerely I don't see the need to update it. And the issues, could be said that they are still there, becasuse they are related to the higher needs in hardware and ram for the ICS update to run, as stated by Sony Ericcson in the update site. But that might not be that noticeable.
Some are very pleased, for some others there are issues like battery drain fast and lack of responsiveness.

If you want to update it try a tutorial from an user in a YouTube channel or another site who has good feedback for the update, or search at XDAdevelopers, and of course research for the pros and cons; then decide.

For me, there's no need to update. First reason can be issues with games. A customer care representative of Gameloft told me it's better to stay in GB as games are most optimized for that version than for ICS. Enough for me to stay with GB, I like gaming and the Xperia Pro handles good most serious Gameloft and EA games, so ICS for the Pro, no. Just don't see the need nor a true benefit in updating.
If I get bored of the UI I'll try GO Launcher, and that's it. It's not that I don't want to try or that I'm afraid, it's just updating has no appeal to me in this case. If it was updating to JellyBean I'd do go for it, that update does have an appeal. Can't tell you why exactly. Anyway, the Pro won't receive JB, but you can go and research for a custom ROM based on JB for the Xperia Pro, there are good ones for sure. Just read carefully and make sure everything works fine (wifi,3G, flashplayer, etc) then, decide.

Ok. I Hope that helps someone.

ibn, 05 Jun 2013i have upgrade to ICS .587 and this phone is rocks!! much ... moreI'm afraid there won't be such think like "Xperia Pro 2" But if you like it so much you'd be pleased with the Xperia Z, which has all that you mention but the keyboard.
I don't use the hardward keyboard often, I like Swype (by Nuance) IT'S WONDERFUL TO TYPE WITH THAT KEYBOARD! (Use it with Mercury theme, beautiful!)
I use the hardward keyboard only when some website has issues with the stock or Swype keyboard. It's like an extra tool, good to have, sure.

Pd: I very much like my Xperia Pro, too, but haven't updated it to ICS, I just don't see the need to.

If you (or anyone) would like to read my report on it just search for "starsky182" in the search box for the comments. It's large, so I can't copy it here.

Riad, 19 May 2013can anybody tell me what pro is better mk16,mk16i,mk16a?MK16a is better. Its 3G works in most parts of the world easily. I reas such thing.
But confirm the 3G coverage of your country and check the bands supported by the device.
The only difference is the 3G that works in most parts of the world, and the MK16i don't, only 2G.

Lucy, 07 Jun 2013Hi, where can I buy this phone in the uk? And does it work... moreYou better ask your carrier. And you can buy it at Ebay, certainly. Or another e-shop.

If you are a moderately exigent user and you like occasional gaming, and if you like this device because of its design and complete hardware capabilities, you're in the right way. This device is very good, even for heavy games like Modern Combat 3,4, Asphalt series and NOVA series, but to get the most of it you need to root it and tweak it a bit. Just if you plan to put it under heavy stress, but if not, then the Xperia Pro will do great.

baby, 05 May 2013how to stop all the services?1: Root the Xperia Pro: A simple Google or YouTube search for "Root Xperia Pro" will give you the tutorial

2: Buy or get the ROM Toolbox apk.

3: Make a full back up of the system and user apps, just in case.

4: Uninstall the apps you don't like or need.

5: Use "Autostart Manager" in ROM Toolbox app and uncheck the boxes of all but the apps you do want to start when the system is turned on.

6: Enjoy a faster Xperia Pro with more RAM for your tasks.

Besides this you can use "No Frills CPU" app and set the minimal CPU speed at 800Mhz and the max to 1024Mhz. (Use on-demand gobernor and I/O: noop) This will force the cpu to always be running at a high speed so all your interactions with the phone will be faster.

These are the simple things that you can do to improve the performance of the Xperia Pro. I have it too, and it works very well.
More advanced, yet easy things too, are trying with custom ROMs or mods by developers at XDAdevelopers.com Some are very good, but read carefully, then try. As I see it there's no a urgent need to modify more the system, it does good enough for any use.

Ok, I hope that helps. n.n

Pd: As I see it there's no need for ICS "upgrade/update" If you're bored of GB try Go Launcher and that's it. It will renew your experience. It's a free and very, very good Launcher.

I been using this phone (MK16i) for more than a year, I upgraded it on-line using 3G connectivity maybe 2 or 3 times now running ICS version. I already reset to factory settings many times. So far I don't have any problem encounter with this phone. Used it as portable Access Point for my co-workers many months (I subscribed prepaid unlimited 3G connection). I am quite satisfied with the performance of this phone. My suggestion is purchase your cellphone from authorized distributor of the unit so that you have one year warranty if you encounter any problem.

Using this phone from last one year. Used so many apps, games, launcher, torrent downloder for movies, paying all online bills, chatting gtalk watsaaps, video chatting, gmail, yahoo, picasa, synchronized company mailbox, operating LED internet TV, used HDMI, sync contacts, facebook youtube, birthdays on screen, unique timescape & so on...... Nice experience with pro. Usage of laptop at home has been reduced due to this phone. Really excellent.
                                Really value for money.

why does the shutter always make sizzling noise before taking any pictures? it turns out that a lot of people who updated their android face the same issue. does anyone has any solution to fix this problem yet?
