Most of the people who complain about the design try to hold it in a manner that you would not normally hold any phone. I never any problems with the 3G connection of the Desire Z either.
The Xperia Pro is a newer phone by 5 months and does have better specs and a few more features than the Desire Z. If you want the latest and greatest Android with a physical keyboard, the Xperia Pro is it.

[deleted post]Definitely the SE Pro! SE manages to produce better and more durable phones than Nokia (at least based on my experience)... even though this comes at a higher price, its all worth it! I cant wait to get my hands on this phone!

just an update. there's a video in youtube that shows backlight on its qwerty keyboard. this disproves the recent claims that there's no backlight for using phone in areas where there's bad lighting condition.
