I am using xperia pro about 2 weeks, the phone is excellent! Recently updated to Android 4 (ICS)
I miss only 2 options, maybe somebody could share experience or knowledge:
- Speech (voice) recognition and conversion to text (for sms, notes, etc. ) . I had this option with my Samsung Galaxy
- Encryption of the SD card

I've updated to ICS couple of days ago. Its working nice & without any lag. But first day I was so disappointed. So many lag & low ram problem. But after a restore factory settings, all worrked out just fine. Now I have no lag, no camera problem, more free ram...
The good things are the face unlock, image editing options & cool outlooks.
The bad things are the camera skin( I liked earlier gingerbread version, for this ICS u will have to press hardware key for getting options, not sliding like before..& macro focus mode is gone. Face unlock option didnt come after update, rather after restore factory settings. U may need the latest java software in ur computer for the upgradation.

Atlast i found how to downgrade to Gingerbread and root this Pro.. For a amatuer like me, it was very confusing and there were no perfect solution seen in net.. Here comes how i hav done this.. Requirements :
1) Flashtool (u can get this software by searching in google), please clear all datas in firmware (folder inside flashtool after installatio)
2) MK16i_4.0.2.A.0.58_(1249-8108).ftf. U can get this from google too
3) Lot of Patience :-)
Procedure:
Please install Flashtool in C of ur computer.. and please copy MK16i_4.0.2.A.0.58_(1249-8108).ftf u hav downloaded to folder(Firmwares in that installed Flashtool), Please disable antivirus before all this process. Please run Flashtool.exe and please click on Lighting picture, here select Flash option thn u can see the firmware u hav inserted (MK16i_4.0.2.A.0.58_(1249-8108)) plz click ok/done (dont change any options). After Preparation it ask u to remove cable and power off, thn plz click on return key while connecting to PC/laptop (dont press power button).. It start flashing all file... please wait till it show flashing complete and restating connection, connected to flashmode.. only after seeing connected to flashmode, u can remove cable and switch on.. Here also u hav to be patient.. After some time it'll be started with Gingerbread..
Now u hav successfully downgraded.. while connecting to net it'll show new update for phone is found(4.0.2.A.062)... dont upgrade if u want to root.
Here come how to root..
here also u need tht same Flashtool.. Connect ur phone by enabling USB Debugging and install from unknown sourses.. Whn u connect it with Flashtool.. it'll show its ready.. Plz click the Icon next to lighting icon, thts the Root icon.. Relax, root1 will be over thn root2... thn ur phone will be rooted successfully.. just gv time to reboot by itself.. Here u get rooted fone.. Now u can upgrade to 4.0.2.A.062 version thru ur phone not thru PC companion..
Now u hav Rooted Gingerbread!!! Congrats...

Some appp may not move as they use system objecst ..hope this helps

Reset your phone after the ics update.......it will make your phone smooth again.......however ur apps and contacts and msgs will be erased......however u can backup ur contacts......

i couldn't fix the hd video problem in the ics update ,i will flash it back to gingerbread until sony or some rom cookers can fix the problem.
my advice for now do not update and keep using the old rom.

Having WIFI problems after updating to ICS. Drops connection. Obtains IP address and then drops. Google and Sony confirms that this is an ongoing issue with Xperia. But no turnaround time yet on an update.
Problem seems to be selective to router brands. Problem occurs with 2 brands but does not happen to 2 other brands. It only happens though if you apply security (WPA, WPA2) but does not happen when no security is applied; which exposes your network to very very high risk.
I had to bear with the issue until update is available. Set MAC filtering up and disable SSID broadcasting as a workaround to prevent unauthorized connection to wireless router with no security at all. Not a good decision, still exposes network to risks, but no other choice until upgrade to fix bug is available :(
