Sony Ericsson announced it's first touchscreen phone in 2002 September(P800 smartphone). Nokia started only in 2008 to make public touchscreen phones. Samsung announced it's first smartphone in 2004 only, other previous models were cancelled. Sony Ericsson announced for the whole world(not in Korea coz they had then 8MP phones) the world's first 8Mp camera phone in 2008 June. Also they announced the first 12MP smartphone. SE(Japan) announced the world's first waterproof phone in 2006, the So902Wp. And we can see waterproof phones outside of Japan.
SO after these facts I can say SE is very advanced! So SE haters, what can you say about these facts???

    The Ericsson R380, in 2000, was the first commercially available phone based on Symbian OS. As with the modern "FOMA" phones, this device was closed, and the user could not install new C++ applications. Unlike those, however, the R380 could not even run Java applications, and for this reason, some have questioned whether it can properly be termed a 'smartphone'.

        In 1998 when the first ringtones were sold to mobile phones by Radiolinja in Finland.
        The very first generation of ringtones were known as "monophonic" ringtones and these were particularly popular with Nokia handsets as they allowed you to create your own ringtone file if you knew what you were doing.
        Next were Polyphonic ringtones, first emerging in Japan around 2001 and allowing several types of notes and instruments to be played at one time. These used sequenced recording methods such as MIDI.
        The third generation of ringtone formats were referred to as truetones or realtones. They allowed a full, high-fidelity recording, including vocals, to be used as a ringtone. The first format to provide this kind of experience was AMR-WB, which began being incorporated into Nokia phones in around 2004. This bought a boom in the ringtone market as companies began to capitalise on the growing interest for individual ringtones.
        The fourth and final generation, ringtones have finally caught up with the music world in MP3 format and have nothing left to surpass as the sound quality is equal to that of an iPod or CD player.

            Allbrands, 27 Feb 2010"Camera-on-a-chip" developed by Dr. Eric Fossum a... moreWhat you saiud about Sharp is true, they made the world's first camera phone, they are the BEST in the world in camera phones, they use CCD sensors, NOT CMOS. CCD sensor give much clear images than CMOS, this is 100% true. Casio is a very good company too, they are almost like Sharp. They made 2 MP phones in 2004, when NOkia, SE and others made their first VGA camera phones. :) In Japan the first Email capable phone appeared in 1999!! In 2001 appeared the first 3G network, in 2002 music downloads, digital tv in 2005!The first 2MP Japanese camera phone was announced by Casio in 2003 October. Casio announced it's first 3.2 MP(CCD) camera phone in 2004 May 17!
            I really hope Japan will enter in global markets with very high-end phones!

                  "Camera-on-a-chip" developed by Dr. Eric Fossum and his team in the early 1990s achieved the first step of realizing the modern camera phone as described in a March 1995 Business Week article.
                  The first camera phones were successfully marketed by J-Phone in Japan.
                  In Japan, two competing projects were run by Sharp and Kyocera in 1997. Both had cell phones with integrated cameras.
                  The first commercial camera phone complete with infrastructure was the J-SH04, made by Sharp Corporation, had an integrated CCD sensor, and marketed from 2001 by J-Phone in Japan today owned by Softbank.
                  The first commercial deployment in North America of camera phones was in 2002. The Sprint wireless carriers deployed over one million camera phone manufactured by Sanyo, developed and managed by LightSurf.
                  In 2004 Nokia became the world's most sold digital camera brand.
                  In 2006 Thuraya released the first satellite phone with an integrated camera.
                  In 2008 Nokia sold more cameraphones than Kodak sells film based simple cameras, and thus Nokia is now even the biggest manufacturer of any kind of camera.

                    In 1998, Lund Switzerland saw companies united into an association called the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). This group consisted of companies from different backgrounds . These companies were Ericsson, IBM, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Intel, Toshiba, and Agere. These companies now promote development and research into the technology of Bluetooth.

                      SE 2010, 27 Feb 2010And by the way Phoenix regarding what you said that if you ... moreEricsson invented Blueetoth?? Wow, I didn't knew this. Ericsoon was a great company before SE, and even now they are good! :) SE amde the first phone with Music player? Are you sure about this? Because Moto was a good company in 2002, 2003. LG back then was not good, Nokia was qouite good back then. SE is a good company, I will respect them all of my life.
                      By the way HTC is a newer company, and they made BIG improvements, so we can be shocked. The HD2 has the biggest screen for example.

                        Don't forget SE made the first Symbian phone, SE made the first 1GHZ Android phone, SE announced the first 8MP Windows Mobile phone, SE made the first transparent screen phone.

                          And by the way Phoenix regarding what you said that if you want us to believe you don't mention :

                          SE= make.believe
                          others = follow

                          You told me HTC has the same high quality. Which I must agree because lately I'm a big fan of HTC, and I believe that the only brand that can compete with SE is HTC, no samsung no lg no nothing.

                          Anyway, the truth must be said, do you know that HTC had big issues when it came to connections and networks, do you know that in the past HTC did not have half the quality they have today! HTC has been quietly brilliant lately which is great, but SE has been quietly brilliant for a long time now.

                          Also, do you know that SE had cameras inserted in their phones, and music players phones before nokia. Also, Ericsson was the first company that invented the blu-tooth technology, and ericsson today is emerged with sony. Also, SE was the first to include animations and lovely user interfaces in their brand, and let's not forget the style! Phones were boring and basic, who do you think began making phones with style and fashion? Well guess what, yes it was SE.

                          And back then Samsung and lg were nothing comparing them to SE's technology. My point is, SE innovated many things that other brands use today.

                          So yes I insist when I say that :

                          SE= make.believe
                          others= follow

                          It's not promoting or such thing, its a fact that people should not forget about, and because SE is losing lately so we should forget all the good things that they invented for us?, well this is not going to happen.
