If you say a product is successful because of the number of sales does not necessarily means its the best. you proved it. Then handsets like Nokia 1100, Iphone, Gfive hansets are miles ahead in number of sales. India is a developed country and it drives the world market and is the second biggest consumer base for any product manufacturer and just recently Gfive overtook samsung leaving samsung sales crashing. According to your belief number of sales mean the best correct? then Nokia is the best, Gfive comes second...why would I or anyone else settle for samsung? if number of sales is the only criteria i need to look.
now to answer that question. Everyone has a different taste.
People like X10 coz of its design, the OS customization ( can really say this after having stock froyo 2.2 on my x10 which is not as per my liking) and the customer service especially in India. We all know x10 is not the best handset out there in the market and reminding you it was released way before galaxy s hit the market. so why is galaxy s trying to compete with a phone which was released months before its own release. try competing with the new generation phones. and btw galaxy nexus S is way better than galaxy s...now which is the best handset...it depends upon the person who is buying

my xperia will select any application while it was charging... i switch off my xperia but when it connected to the charger it'll switch on automatically... sometimes it'll write & send msg by itself... i cant play game nor view & reply msg while it was charging... does asybody hav same situation s mine...? should i try to reformat it...? would it fix my problem...?

Profit is the ultimate target! And in history and financial raports as well as released selles figures,profit is an undeniable indicator! The argument with 1100 is flawed! It was even when it was launched a pretty basic handset but because of it's price targeted a huge portion of consumers being the weapon of choice especially for million of people in the underdeveloped countryes. Galaxy being in a whole different market niche has managed to outsell most of it's competitors and is regarded by many as the best smartphone around. Numbers...proffit....cold words but undeniable!

Some good phones in the past too were not good when it came to sale figures. if you believe the sales is the only criteria ...nokia 1100 in India itself sells more than 10 million :) n i dont think so its the best phone out there and im sure u wont agree with it either? :) n if you still believe galaxy s is the best phone out there..then why advertise? people will buy it any way :)

starman1695, 14 Jan 2011Not only will they not upgrade to 2.2, they haven't even up... more2.1 is officially out for more than 2-3 months now..and if u really want 2.2 get yourself a custom ROM. but i like 2.1 now that I have tried 2.2 on my x10..miss the customization done by SE on 2.1 ...2.2 is boring apart from the fact that it has flash support...n didnt find it extraordinary as some 2.2 users experienced..2.1 and 2.2 is just the same when it comes to performance..If you say your phone lags its not an issue with the phone its how you use your phone n the way you manage your stuff in it...

newbie, 14 Jan 2011i'm planning to buy x10 but bfore that i had do many resear... moreThere are better choices on today's market then xperia. Xperia 10 is not a bad phone but no more then that! The best choice is Galaxy S! Xperia has android 2.1 on board while Galaxy has the recently released 2.2. There are chances for Galaxy to be upgraded even further to 2.3 while xperia will remain with 2.1. From the start Galaxy has Superamoled display widely regarded as the best in the business! About the differences... Android 2.2 brings in general an improvement in speed and performance being much faster then 2.1. It support USB tethering-the phone can be conected to a laptop or computer and used as a modem. Installed apps can be stored to a memory card. It supports flash 10.1 optimised for mobile devices. There are 7 home screes to install widgets. All those things were not possible with 2.1. If you'se still not convinced read the reviews on Gsmarena and other profile sites in which they conclude that Galaxy is by far a better phone! I hope you'l make the right choice!

I just upgraded to Android 2.1 and the phone has started to perform even better. Battery life got extended thanks to better processor management and software has given new lock unlock screen interface which is better and its just wonderful. Love the phone specially with the new LIVE WALLPAPER support

i'm planning to buy x10 but bfore that i had do many research..most of given me negative comment...is it the x10 really had so many problem bout it? is it real? i'm scare i'm having those same problem just like all of them had told me...but oni SE Xperia just hav andriod wat...any introduce me to buy other SE phone that can function better n got android? thx...hope can get my answer A.S.A.P thx

Well,
After i did the 2.1 update i couldn't charge the phone anymore. So it was replace by a new one on warranty.
Now the second one can't make and receive call anymore ! And i have it since only 2 months.
Hope the warranty still active.
Viva sony ericsson x10 !

You say it's upgradeable to Android 2.1, but WHEN WILL THAT HAPPEN? It was supposed to be available by November 2010 but it's now January 13, 2011 and there is still no UPGRADE AVAILABLE.
