      XPERIA Software Update

Today I can confirm that we will start the roll-out of the Android 2.1 based updates for Xperia X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro now this coming Sunday. The roll out will start in the evening European time.

So far I have received confirmation that the generic kits for the Nordic countries will be the very first ones out on Sunday evening and then there will be more kits coming already during Monday and then the roll-out will continue throughout the month of November.

As said earlier these updates will give you some features introduced by Android 2.1 and the Xperia X10 will also get HD-video recording in 720p with continuous auto focus.
The changes in user experience after the update is a mix of things added or changed going from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 and things changed or improved by us directly.

I hope SE comes out something fantastic in 3-4 months.

        4-5 inch screen.
        10mm thickness
        SLCD or OLED screen
8mp HD camera, double/tripple LED flash
        16GB internal memory
        Android 3.0 OS
        GPS
        1700mAh battery
        1GHz CPU

ALL THIS IS very doable right NOW!!!!!!!!!
(even 6 months ago, except with Android 2.2)

Why it is not released? Now, that is a long story - my friends!

So do not praise recently released totally outdated phones because we are fools to get them at all!

Excited, 30 Oct 2010ok awesome, so basically the phone needs to be connected to... moreBasically, you need to install the SE PC Companion first to the Windows PC you will use to do the update. Then when the program is running, click on the Start below the Support Zone, it will ask you to connect the phone. Then it will check if there is an update to your phone when it detects it. Once, update is detected, it will ask you if you want to do the update, also it will remind you to make backup of the data on your phone. After that, you can proceed to do the update which will take about 15 to 30 minutes depending on your internet download speed. The rest, just follow the screen prompt...

[deleted post]Just like Apple's iPhone, the X10 is being manufactured by Foxconn. The X2 was made by HTC before. Cheaper SE phones is made by their own factory in Malaysia and China, this is due to the volume of production. High end phone are low volume product, which is not profitable for any company to build a dedicated factory to make those models...

Sony who no longer design, or manufacture their Vaio notebooks but instead depend on third party manufacturers in China and Taiwan to make their products, said that more than half a million of its F and C series laptops sold since the start of 2010 are affected by the recall.

Sony does admit that it has received a number of reports of its laptop overheating, distorting keyboards and casings.

This is not the first time that Sony has been forced to conduct recalls for their Vaio notebooks which are fast gaining a reputation for being unreliable.

In 2006 the firm recalled over 100,000 batteries after concerns they were overheating and, in a few rare cases, exploding; while in 2008 it recalled 400,000 Vaio laptop computers worldwide because of wiring faults.

The big problem for Sony is the damage to their reputation after the company was forced to use third party manufacturers in Asia, due to falling sales and profits and the closing of over 20 Sony factories around the world.

With several Sony products, including their Vaio notebooks, the only thing Sony about them is the label on the product.

Sony announced late Thursday that it would be recalling a total of 9.6 million batteries worldwide, including 90,000 of its own Vaio batteries.
