Few more points to add
1. GPS on the Galaxy S is not accurate at all, X10 is almost perfect. So if you are going to need navigation then get the X10 eyes closed
2. With the Galaxy S, you may have to deal with a lot of bugs, sad but true. Otherwise its a good phone.
3.And with the X10 you need to be patient for updates, maybe a lot more than with Galaxy S.
4. Build quality of the X10 is much better than Galaxy S
5. Galaxy S great for movies, videos, pictures while X10 screen great for messaging, browsing, reading ebooks, documents.

And out of X10 and Galaxy S, well it is ofcourse subjective. But still, if you want flash support in the browser, Android 2.2, arguably better screen for watching videos, native Divx and Xvid support, and don't bother about low light photo quality you can get the Galaxy S
If you are into taking photos, browsing and reading books on the phone, messaging, music, and want a phone that not just works well but is also stylish, go for the X10
:)

It's already armed with Eclair and looks like the Froyo is coming up soon. But, I suggest you to wait for some more time until the official 2.1 Eclair for SE Xperia X10 is released. After the release of android 2.1 on X10, you'll definitely know better which one to buy. If you were planning to buy X10, I suggest you to buy the Luster White! Damn it's gorgeous!!! I kind of disappointed to pick the sensous black... =(
