xperia x10 is good looking hand set xperia x10 have a lot of funcations butt it,s to difficult hand set by other hand sets xperia x10 dont have flash light but i enjoy it.

Thats good for ole x10 users so for shure s ericsson will updste firmware soon, but as I said i dont care cause it got me entertained with all the features. I like to use the web here i almost never use my laptop this screen is great

Better than... moreIf Milestone still compete with other phone specially with the upcoming update Froyo.Yes x10 can compete with latest phones but with an updated OS 2.1 or better with Froyo. Because most of them are receiving Froyo.

I was just wondering is there anyway to watch clear youtube videos? Because the youtube app that comes pre-installed on the device sucks big time!
Also, why can't I take photos with flash?? When I take a photo in the dark, the flash never works.

***Advantages of Rooting***
Rooting means you will be the admin(Windows Terminology) of your Operating System(Android).
1)You will be able to uninstall apps that you don't require, like many don't like moxier email(but I use it since it has push email),timescape,mediascape or branded apps which come with one's firmware.
2)You will be able to tether with your PC or make your X10 as a wifi router/modem. Apps like "Barnacle wifi tether" are freely available of android market but require root access. Please note Tethering is not native to 1.5 Android.
3)You could install "Titanium Backup App" from android market which requires root access and is the only app which helps you backup the whole phone into SD card.
and there are many more advantages, you will come to know once you root your phone.
***Disadvantages of Rooting an X10****
None :) you're an Administrator
but yes there are risks involved
1) You might brick your phone while in the process of rooting if not done in a proper way in other words ur phone is as good as dead.
2) Since you are the admin of your OS(Android) you could remove any app you want and by mistake may remove something which is essential for your phone to function
3) You will void the warranty with Sony Ericsson
***UnRoot X10***
Just in case if you want to unroot your phone.
1) Disable USB Debugging mode: Settings –> Applications –> Development –> Untick ‘USB debugging’.
2) Now run the Sony Ericsson Update Service or PC Companion.
3) When prompted connect the phone to the USB cable. Under Software Update, click on Start.
5) Let the software download and reinstall the latest update. Once finished your phone will be unrooted.

At this present day, OS level rooting has been possible on X10(tutorial available at xperiaX10.net) and not the Boot loader Rooting which means that you have an access like that of an administrator of an operating system but you're still not the owner of the system that you could install custom ROMs i.e Android 2.1 on X10...so the only way to get an Android 2.1 on X10 would be wait for SE to release it or wait for some xda developer to come with a root method to be able to install custom ROMs on X10 :)

What file extension are those video's you have uploaded on your phone?
If its an avi format you will have to download any avi compatible video player from android market and there are many options.

X10 screen sensitivity is as good as it gets, Used Iphone 3GS for couple of months..So yes its better than 3GS for sure. Cannot comment on Iphone 4 as it hasn't hit the Indian Market yet and don't think it will anytime soon.Apple is just not taking it seriously anyway its their loss.
Ive checked the Galaxy S and Samsung Wave coz my team mate has both the phones now, So I can easily answer any comparison question between X10 and the above said phones.
Screen Sensitivity on Galaxy S/Wave is not as good as that on X10...and under Sunlight I find all the phones are pathetic irrespective of the screen technology being used. India is as sunny as one can get :) It's sunny all year long :(

Just wish se will develop a much better screen. Better than super amoled. And sell it to the market as a screen replacement for this old tft of our x10. For me this is the only major drawback compared to other device. Hoping.lol. :-)
