"My friend, that's very good for x10 users to get update to 2.1 in q3. but look there is 2 class of smartphones. the normal smartphones and the super smartphones. iphone and desire are normal smartphones. x10 with snapdragon 1 ghz 384 mb ram, 1gb rom, never can be the best. galaxy s will always be faster. check benchmark results, x10 is close to droid 1 while galaxy s with 2.1 leave x10 far behind. in fact 2.1 does not make the phone so fast, you would take about 2.2 froyo because nexus was even faster than galaxy s with 2.1. by the way in q3 x10 get 2.1 in july droid 1 get 2.2 froyo, desire announced froyo as well in q3 so x10 with 2.1 will remaind slow against competitor while for user it will be an improvement. that's the truth my friend. at this time there is htc evo 4g and moto droid x that are super smartphones. the upcoming galaxy s pro 4g with keyboard with droid 2 with keyboard as well are also super smartphones. so x10 will be fast but not so fast. at least sony try something hope in q3 2.1 will really come."

any way as far as i know, X10 will get 2.1 in Q4, X10 mini and mini pro in Q3.

Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson plans on proving that its Android-based Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 can easily become one of the fastest mobile phones on the market. The phone, announced officially during the fourth quarter of the last year, is set to receive a software update sometime in the third quarter of the ongoing year, a move that would greatly enhance the experience it can offer to users, it seems.
Sony Ericsson X10 handset sales have been slow because of the popularity of the similarly specified HTC Desire, sources claim
The X10, Sony Ericsson’s first Android handset, went on sale at the start of April, around the same time the Desire hit stores, and has been outrun in sales terms by the Taiwanese handset.
HTC launched the Desire, alongside its Legend Android phone, with its biggest-ever marketing campaign and provided high street retailers with an average of eight live demo units per store. It also doubled its number of handset trainers to 14.
HTC has seen stock shortages after miscalculating demand for the Desire.
A source close to Sony Ericsson said: “The smartphone market is a massively competitive area now and Sony Ericsson has become increasingly frustrated at the job HTC is doing with the Desire, which is proving extremely popular.”
Sony Ericsson UK and Ireland marketing director David Hilton responded by saying that impending software and Android updates for the X10 will make it a faster phone than the Desire.
“There will be a software update for the X10 in the next couple of weeks, which is optimising the software so the phone works faster. The X10 will be faster than the Desire in most if not all functions of the phone.
“We intend to go out to the sales channels, training and educating people that X10 will be a master phone to use once this update happens. There will also be an Android update on the X10 in Q3, taking it from version 1.6 to 2.1. We’ll continue to look at how we can evolve beyond that.”

hello everybody out there..well, i plane to buy a touch screen gadget but as i had earlier on courted ravz's opinion/views & decided to go for Vivaz but after trying on the x10, i just fell in luv with it but with the new packages offered by my local network provider..they are offering iphone 3GS..sounds attractive but i feel as if i'm betraying my all time fav. brand (SE).. why do i feel like this? so, til now, i've not decided on the gadget yet. Any advice ?
