                just wanna ask:
if we already had the 1.6 one,can we just upgrade it? what's the difference btw? will that make a big change?

and, can we download games or music mate,or some other app that we already found in a non android phone?

                please answer thanks

wow, nice review adrian. actually i have this phone for almost a month now. at first i was really disappointed because the features i wanted was not in the phone (so i thought). but i learned to use it and downloaded several applications and by now, i super love my phone! it's actually great. i wonder why a lot are complaining about the battery life. mine lasts for 2-3 days with light internet surfing, 2-3 hrs of music playing, heavy texting, not so much with calls. and also, i only charge it for an hour. so it's ok. and i'm really a fun of sony ericson! best phones there is!

Wondering whether to buy this phone? Read on – and hopefully my comments will hepp you come to that decision – It s along post but hopefully worth it..

I have had this phone for about 5 days now – so there’s still some more things to discover, so I might need to iterate or append further comments - however I felt the need to post now as I have been a little bit irritated by some opinions and reviews on other sites that I felt are either unfair or wholly inaccurate.

Of course the problem I with opinions is that they will only confuse you further – and wont actually help you come to a decision, as they are objectionable and relative to the authors expectations . Even some review sites don’t help as they suffer for the same reasons above.

Given this I should qualify myself, and my expectations..

MYSELF: I have medium to fair use, I surf in the morning, check and reply to emails, watch the odd video, download music, use the camera at weekends etc. Also I work as a business analyst in the city - so am used to making fair assessments of how things work...

MY EXPECTATIONS: I wanted a phone that didn’t cost as much (£175 brand new unlocked on ebay) as the iphone I previously had and loved. I wanted it to be smaller enough to fit easily in my pocket, I wanted touch screen but also missed using a keyboard (and didn’t like the iphone touch screen keypad even in landscape).

Overall this is a fantastic phone - if you want a dinky little phone with touch screen and full usable keyboard - and are fed up with faulty iphone 4 stories - and ridiculous Galaxy S style iphone copycat phones that you will never fit into your pocket - then this really is the phone for you! It looks superb, feel superb and is superb.

Not only does it fit in your pocket easily – but another feature amiss with these chunky tablet style phones is that it you can use it one hand, as your hand can easily grasp - while your thumb can do the tapping (of course its easier and quicker with the keyboard pulled out and both hands).

Ok not doing a full review – just the key issues that I wanted to put straight…

                                    SMALL SCREEN:
The screen is small but – but what do you expect from a SMALL phone – Some reviewers say such contradictory things like “I wanted a small phone but the screen is too small!” what did you expect a go-go gadget button that magically turns it from a small screen into a video projector – then back again? Its just stupid. Anyway it is small but that works fine for me – I’m not 80 years old with spectacles, plus the zoom feature works fine, so where’s the fire?

                                    KEYBOARD:
If hitting the right keys are more important to you rather than having full keyboard functionality/options in a keyboard - then you will find this perfect for typing (i am a guy with average sized hands, and the keypad is excellent - better than blackberry or iphone in this respect). In fact i absolutely love the keyboard, for numbers there is a "blue" key much like the "shift" key, press either once for shift, twice for shift lock - easy.

                                    HOME SCREENS LIMITED TO 4:
This is totally wrong - I read this on IT PRO website (some pros they are), I managed to arrange my icons so i had 15 (yes FIFTEEN) home screens (and reckon i could of kept going!!) so with 9 icons per screen thats at least 135 apps - more than you can add to an iphone (ner ner Steve Jobs - modern day con man with your faulty iphone 4!)

                                    BATTERY LIFE:
I use mine on average for a few phone calls per day, bit of surfing etc, and generally just playing around with it - and I get well over 1 days use out of mine. If you are going to use the camera loads and play lots of games watch videos etc then of course you will fry the battery - same as any other phone on the market! It’s really not an issue as some people say it is - I think they just have high expectations. Beside you can do what I have done to increase your power by doing this:

1.Use the "power control" widget - a simple bar you can add to your home screen which allows u to easily turn off/on wi-fi, data pushes, Bluetooth etc.

                                    2. Get the app (available on the android marketplace) which tells you what apps you have open (ironically i don’t have the name of it as i don’t have it yet 0 but apparently it tells you what’s running - allowing you to go into it and close it properly - if you didn’t when last switching to another app/screen)

                                    3. Buy couple of cheap BST-38 spare batteries (eBay for £6 each - not as good as the official ones - but then at £32 a pop - they will do the job)

                                    4. Buy a battery charger (eBay again - £6 including postage - the official product on Sony will cost you around £30 - it’s ludicrous!)

ANDROID SOFTWARE FROM VERSION 1.6 to 2.2

Ok so that’s all I have to say really - i researched what phone to buy for couple of weeks, and if like me you want a touch screen phone, with a natty little keyboard - then go for this. I always used to be a nokia only person, tried Samsungs, and always regretted it. Then iphone came along and I thought I would never use another phone - until it got stolen and want covered on insurance - so I refused to fork out £450 for another iphone - especially as the iphone 4 is basically a defective handset (death grip).

I spent £175 on a brand new handset from eBay, unlocked. Don’t buy it pay go from shops - they are charging £230-250 !! Fill out the warranty and get it insured properly (learnt my lesson).

One other tip - don’t buy a decent "rigid" screen protector that covers the whole fascia - as it will not work on this phone - due to the slightly bevelled edges down the left and right hand side of the handset - as it will create two long "air pockets" - ironically you might be better of with either a cheap "flimsy" one or even a decent quality one - that you have to cut to size - that way you can trim it to the size of the screen only.

Also if you want a case for this (there are hardly any on the market right now) try the tough guard - £10.47 it’s the only one i could find and looks good - not received it yet - but if it’s bad i will edit this post and warn you away from it. (see link: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/toughguard-shell-for-sony-ericsson-xperia-x10-mini-pro-black-p25705.htm)

I would be wary o the "full body protector" I have seen these before - and not only do they "shrink wrap" your phone and gather at awkward corners/shapes of the phone - they offer no real protection to being dropped - only scratches.

                                    Hope this has been useful.

                                    Regards
                                    Adrian
