well, i'm a sony fan so what the heck this is my transition. k750 (smiling) -> w705 (ok) -> xperia x8 (smiling). so far the impression left on me was the same as that my first k750 so for me this is a good phone. I don't know about the haters but I'd say this is a very good phone for the value. I got this phone for php5,500 in a plan so for me it was quite a blow out. here is how I would rate the 3 phone with 10 as the highest from k750 to w705 to x8,
camera functionality 9, 7, 8
music via loudspeaker 9, 8, 8
music via headphone 9, 9, 8
loudness of music, 8, 9, 10
texting convenience 10, 9, 8
organization of text 8, 9, 10
connectivity 7, 9, 9
speed of the phone 9, 9, 9
internet browsing, 7, 8, 9
screen 7, 8, 9
well that is my opinion. anyways I am again very happy with my phone. Hey for the complainers I don't know about you but for me for the very cheap acquisition price, I find myself lacking the right to complain haha. Thanks sony for another great phone. But you know sony for all those units without a front facing camera, I do hope you create a tiny accessory that can be appended to our unit to do video calls. Now that would be very neat.

I've installed PowerAMP, and hv selected /sdcard/music/ on the settings, but my songs did not appear in this app.
I can see them when opened the preinstalled music player. Do I have to select all folders listed in the music folder setting or what...? Or is this because I use the trial version?

its a good and excellent phone for the new youth generation,.,,, i have bought it before 8 months and now updated to 2.1 version and there is no complaint.. the battery power is amazing for me... thanks for sony ericsson and i request sony ericsson company to introduce more phones like this with competitive prices

my rateing for this phone is 8 / 10
good parts :
nice & stylish , good display , all functions really needed ( wlan , gps , good camera especially video , available for 3d games such as thunder raging , fifa2010 , snooker3d etc),adroid 2,1 suported + ROOT & expandation of memory ( search on xda forums to do this is very simple and change complete the phone)
Recomanded aplications : EsExplorer , skype meebo, DolphinBrowser , bonsai blast , winamp , office suite, vital player (foe movies) , PDA Net (to acces internet from laptop) Games : PoolBreak ,Slice it ,PSE2011 , Raging thunder , Skyforce reloaded etc
bad parts :
-poor battery 5-6 hours if I'm useing normally as I wish .with a few calls & sms per day & 3g internet 1 day , with airplanr mode in the night and just few minutes of calling 2 days
-no camera flash when is dark pictures are not good
-quite complicated menu
-low memory if you don't expand it

I bought X8 a month ago and everything was fine. it's few days that connection to operator is lost. all other functions are working except connection to network. just like it is on flight mode. sim is working in other phones. I'm sure that the there is something wrong with phone. I did factory setting also with no use. can somebody help.

i'm not explore it fully but for me it's quite worthly.. it's a reasonable for smartphone for having it.. but most of it stylish for me..

Did u see that software update for Xperia X8...Yeahhhhhhhhhh....I just did it an its just awesome and they say that we are getting multi-touch which I was so happy that I fell and broke my leg...Whoaaaaa...Actually I started to hate Sony Ericsson but now I m actually going back to Sony Ericsson...U see although Samsung,motorola,lg and htc has the latest version of the android software they cant be updated anymore..But Not Sony ericsson....Cheers guys now my phone's performance is really good and cant wait for th multi-touch
