It is not fair to compare it to phones costing 3X, 4X or 5X as much.
Not everyone can afford the latest and best phones, we have other things to spend our money on!

Michael, 27 Jan 2011well.... all i want is a cellphone with a PDF reader (i'll ... moreYes, I have downloaded an media player from the android market called arcmedia. Which does play AVI files. But sound is dodgy and playback gets stuck, with a warning about a slow cpu.
So either try a different player or get a more expensive phone.

everything is fine with this mobile,but the battery backup of this mobile is very poor....if anyone wants to work above 2hour continuous on this phone is not possible.....its better for try other phone within this price range.........

If anyone has done it, ple... morewhateva u say dude....... i agree dat android may be 10times better dan symbian^1 ..... but the built quality,reliability & durability of nokia phns is better than any other. . . . if u dnt believe me go to phn finder, dont edit any field and hit search . . .. . . and u find the top 70 popular phns...... and nokia are at highest positions and majority of them(u can open nokia n8 specs and see its popularity as 92% which is most).....this shows dat nokia is still at first in smartphn race & liked by majority people.....and if in future it comes wid android, all other brands would S**K THEIR A**.

I have this phone, so PDF readers are available on the android market (Several off them). Some are free, others you have to buy. AVI files. Not sure, will look when my phone recharges.
Another point. Battery life is very poor. But recharge time is swift!
I will not comment on the optimus one or the blackberry because I have not used them.

SE is not going on ri8 way,after 8-9 months only 2 phones and both r high end phones.everyone doesnt buy such 500 usd dollar phones,so make also midrange phones with all latest features as samsung,moto,htc,etc,
SE is superb in technology but no more believe
I used k750,w810,w660,w595 and now t715 all are super java phones but in android I didnt find my ri8 phone,this time se havnt froyo 2.2 phone now in 2011 but lg has optimus 1 with 2.2
I wish that se will rekease 7-8 phones in various range
Good luck se if not then nokia,samsung,lg are waiting still for me first time

whaddaya think? should i stick to this phone or i'd better go to curve 3G or Optimus One P500??
blackberry has small screen and LG is not a very reliable brand comparing to SE, i think.
btw, both are about $100 more expensive than X8 in my country..

But 128MB of internal memory is plenty of space.
And to advise the woman who decided to go for the nokia 5230. Yes nokia can save applications on memory cards. Just a shame it's got almost no applications worth anything compared with Android.

I went to the store and played with the X8 today and went to applications where it showed internal storage to have 135mb. Now, how is that possible when this phone only has 128mb?

whom shoud i believe...???!! tel the truth whether downloading app to mem card is possible or not in this phn.... if yes, then how?
And if no i'm goin to save my money and go for a trusty nokia nokia c5 or 5230

i just cancelled my intention to buy this phone then(except of course if SE grants this phone a froyo).
now i will have to look for the alternatives..... curve 3G or optimus one??? hmmm.....
