I've had the SE z1010 since January 05, and It has so far been the best cell phone I have ever owned.
However, the only problems I have experienced is the phone generating extra heat when being used in 3G mode, Freezing up when doing complex things such as Browsing the Internet with the Media Player in operation, and some freezing when using Bluetooth.
Allthough they sound serious, they are not. Apparently, they can be cured with a firmware update, which you could get from certain service centers in your country. I want to upgrade my firmware, but cannot find a place to do it. That has been another problem.
Also, this phone has malfunctioned considerably less than any other phone I have used, and Sony Ericsson DO make great cell phones.
The phone itself is a masterpiece. Everything it has works great and usually does more than you expect it to.
If you are a fasion guru, this phone may not be for you. It is quite bulky, and can be uncomfortable in your pocket. But Finding a cell phone with those specifications smaller than that, easily shows that the z1010 is the best in its class.

i really like this phone but they are to chunky if they were slimed they woudld be the perfect ph!!!!

my battery is down within 6 hrs on stand by mode,the back side of phone become hot,is it the battery or the phone has a defect,please inform.thanks

It's o cool 3G phone(from the specifications).I didn't test it but in a few weeks I'l have it and test it!! I think I'l be very satisfied with him! It has a 2 VGA cameras! This is cool!!

my sony ericsson has only 3.5 MB shared memory.why?
i have looked everywhere on the phone but i canot find any other memory.what can i do to solve this problem?

i have done this but i cant select them as ringtone. i cant use my mp3s as ringtones i wonder if there is a software or something like that

to use mp3 as ringtones all you have to do is load them onto the fone, through the datacable, in australia on 3 it comes in the box, and select it like a normal ringtone, simple as that.
This fone is a brick, i got rid of mine for a SE T630.. not a moments regret

I doubt a 1 gb stick works with a z1010 only up to 128 mb also make sure you have the right type of stick as there are diff types i.e. duo,duo pro, pro, standard and also have a look at who made the stick

Hi, I'm just thinking of buying a 1Gb memory stick duo for my sony ericsson z1010. Will it work? I saw a post where a guy said that his 512 mb memory stick wasn't working. And I read somewhere that z1010 can only use upto 128mb mem sticks.Is this true? Please reply soon!!
