Hi everyone,
I just got this phone and so far I really like it. Unfortunately the red one was no longer available and I wanted it. I bought a red housing cover which should be in the mail soon but now that I am looking at the phone, it seems quite difficult to change. Does anyone have any instructions on how this is done?

Even though the SE Z800i is a better phone with better mp3,camera,external screen, and displays, notto mention size, is it really worth waiting two months to get the z800i or just to get a z1010 right now?. Money is nottoo much of a problemfor me as i am willing to spend a biton a good phone, but i am worried the phone will get outdated very quickly. I am thinking of getting it on a plan so it will be cheaper but it will have to last me at least two years......Which do you guys think is the better option?

Good choice kris,
about the size of Z10101 its really big but u cant find many 3g phones shorter than 10cm in the market,it was the smallest 3g when it was lunched,its not bigger than a packet of Mallboro,
about the memory problems that may apear on non Sony memory sticks after repeated and excesive use,
u sould go to an ATM store and have ur card formated,
about the mp3 problems,
hmm thats tricky, all phones work to specific frequensy of bits,
try to change this,or download the mp3 from another source

It's a good phone. It was cheap here in Australia for only AU$200 brand new. Its got more features than any other phone i have seen. The only thing that is missing is a MP camera but who needs that.
The only downsides is that the photo menues are really slow, gets annoying, and also that it is an absolute brick. I just got this phone to have for a little while till i get a proper one because my Nokia keeps turning off, and the Sony Ericsson was a cheap substitute here is Australia.

hey there daniel, i think to upgrade your software you would take it to a 3 store and they will take the phone and they will updgrade it, but im not 100% sure..maybe if you call up the customer care number they will be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.
i also have the same problem with the dragging of mp3s to the phone..i am not too sure why or what the solution is...but when i find out i will make sure to post it on this site

can u pls tell me what the upgrade wiil do for my pfone and where do i get the software upgrade program from?
my bigest problem is that i can t use the mp3 because when i m trying to drag mp3 s from my computer to the phone it says error
or it stops at the middle
sometimes it says that i don t have enougf free memory altghou i have nothing on it.sometimes it works but that is only ones in 100 attepmts:)).
do u know any program that should help my mp3 transfering problem?also i m not satisfied with my camera .it works prety slow.i d apreciated if u could give me some answers. thanks

umm...could anyone let me noe whether you can access the memory card from the phone directly? because i am being faced with the problem of running out of memory on the fone and i cannot store much on it at all.....i called a mate because they had previously had the z1010 and i was told the memory card can only be accessed through the computer...
if it is possible to access the memory card through the phone could someone plz email me the steps i would take to get to the memory card, thank you very much

After 1 and a/2years of constant use of my Z1010, i could say i am very pleased of my phone,
i never had a problem with it,
i recomend everyone to make a software upgrade and get rid of any possible broblem,
if it insist u sould know the problem may be caused of ur local network or wrong settings,
the sound and display of it is just awesome even today,it was one of the first working 3g devices way beyond its season and competition,Z1010 isnt a great step forward,S700 has a much better cam but someone sould choose cam or 3g, i choosed 3g,
K750 now has 2mp cam,better than S700 and redused size,
but it would be a step back leaving 3g for a "normal" phone,
SE must come up with smth more powerfull to pursuade me make the next step, smth to compete Nokia N90 and Samsung Z700,
i trust SE and i know they always do and they do it the right time,
the above devises were advertised months ago,SE will make a surprice launch after their launch with a superior and more compact device as always,the mases may ignore it because it wont have "NOKIA" or "SAMSUNG" on it but i wont,
if u buy a phone like T68i,T610 and K700i u know there is a long way for the competition to come up with a better solution
Z1010 is just another exemple,

i love this fone but its giving me problems! its not accepting all the networks in my country, its just accepting one network and i am not using the network it accepting. what can i do now? pls help me!

this fone really annoyed me, there are lots of problems. one is the fact that u cant use custom ringtones for sms, only fone ones, which really annoyed me. the other is that on the 3G network WAP doesnt work. another problem is that u cant use email POP3 to hotmail accounts. and lastly this fone is huge! its a brick. given the sound quality is good, but its not supported by most games\tones suppliers, even 3 games dont all support this handset. it was terrible and im now moving to a sharp GX15. dont get the z1010 asa fone, if u must its a very expensive paper weight

this is the bestest phone i have seen since now.u no something if there is no problem we wont no where the problem is and since some tiny problems may occur and this will not bring a bad name on this delicious phone.abt memory an so on no need to woory.wat will u do with 512bm,u will watch films?we must understant at least that a phone is not a oc.
simply the phone is the best

U can extend your memory card up to 512mb. The battery hold up to 7 days in gsm networks and 4 days max in 3G network

How much memory is for the mp3? like how much it normally holds if u onli use the memory card thats given to you with the phone.

well have got its software upgraded and have been told it now should be able to read memory stick dou pro and bought a 512 mb memory stick dou pro. but it dont seem to work. how is that. have talked to a tech that should know what he is talking about
