I have had three Z520A phones and all three have failed electronically within three months of operation.

DONT BUY THIS PHONE!!!! My wife and I purchased two models of this phone from Cingular and have already had to go through five phones and we've only had them since March 06!! The camera consistantly takes pics, the screens go blank, the phone powers off randomly, the phone sometimes freezes up completely and only works again after taking the battery out and putting back again. The buttons stop working after a while. I went to Cingular, but they told me it was Sony's problem. Sony says it is Cingular's problem. SO- now I'm between two companies that are refusing to help me. Do yourself a favor- don't buy this piece of crap!!!!!!

Horrible camera quality. Other than that its a cool phone. Transfers using the Bluetooth goes faster than most phones Ive seen.

Z520i is actually one of the most "bargain" or "very affordable" flip phones by SE (especially in the Philippines). It is good for ladies (actually for boys too) who wants a simple phone with camera. It is good if you are in a tight budget and wants a phone with cam, bluetooth, infra, gaming, internet and 16MB memory.
On the other side, this is not the best phone for people who wants to use their cellphones as an MP3 player (like I said, 16MB max, no optional external memory). Doesn't have FM radio too. It has a browser but with 16MB memory, expect it's processor to be slower compared to phones with larger memory.
If you want a pretty-looking phone with the basic features like camera, complete with bluetooth and infra, then get this phone.
Also, this phone has been in the market for over a year, so as expected, it's technology has dwarfed compared to newer models.
No 3G technology too.
It's a simple phone, but a cute one at that!
I have this phone for almost 4 months and it's still working fine.

I bought 2 phones 5 months ago and with one I had to do a soft upgrade - because it went black on screen - and the other one is now on service - with white screen - The phone is good looking but it's made with low costs - not a very good image for Sony -

This phone is the best I've ever seen - great looks, very user-friendly, and nice ringtones. Sending messages is very easy, I connect to the computer using an infra red adaptor, it's small enough to fit in my purse, and best of all, it's got feminine appeal. Had it for over 8 months now and wouldn't trade it in for anything else.

i owned this phone for about 5 months.
the good:
-ringtones are really loud
-texting is easy cos the keypad is very soft
-calls are clear and loud
-battery lasts quite long [3 to 4 days] and can even go on tho its almost flat
-the mp3 songs play really well, very clear and nice
-calendar is easy to use
-delivery reports are convinient, they just show a tick mark when they are sent
-the name of the person/pic who sent you the text msg appears so u know immediately who sent the msg as opposed to nokia's 'one msg received'
the bad:
-the camera sucks
-i dropped my phone really hard and the internal lcd cracked.will cost rm180 to replace
-the fonts are kind of small.don't get it, you might have to squint if your above 35 :P
-internal memory is very small
overall: a good phone if your looking to buy a phone that doesnt cost alot of money and that has got good features.don't drop the phone tho, you might crack the sensitive lcd

this phone sucks don't buy it
after a while it turns off and then hangs up on people
dont buy!!!!!!!

i skate board and ive lost this tumbling down the street and never broke the screen or anything. i like it alot. i just dont like how slow it is when you turn it on rite quick to check a # it takes forever to access the phone book the first time. and when its in my pocket it constantly takes pic after pic. cause all u have to do is hold down this external button for 2 secs and i do when im leaning on it or sitting and then after ev/time u hit the button it takes a pic or vid, using up all the memory eventually and making it so when u gota look through your stuff it takes forever to delete the crap. also the video isnt that good. and when you have a song for use as an alarm it stops playing after so long. u dont get to hear the hole thing. but all the rest of the phone is great and i wouldnt trade it for anything else just yet.

yeah i have this mobile for 2 months and the exact same thing happened the screen went blank and now it wont turn back on im bringing it back!

I had this phone for about 4 months.. and the phones screen just stoped workin one day. I can't see nothing.. i can still make calls. But that defeats the purpose of the phone. Dont know what to do but this phone is not on my list.

Z520 is really a NICE phone with beautiful design n pratical functions..i've been using it for 1 year n now im facing the same problem like LM Jones..the screen went white, i cant see my display but still can hear the start up tone and key pad sound..the external screen is still working, i can see messages coming in n misscalls but whats the use :(
i cant see anything from the inside..the phone has loses its function..sob..sob......

Mine died after 3 months. Water damage so no replacement, but if you take out battery and SIM and look at connector, there is a hole from outside direct to electronics. Not at all watertight, so be carefull
