What does the "Performance" parameter in votes exactly means? Is it just based on antenna quality or some other factors are included?

I'm from Argentina, I got the z520 a month ago and buying iy has been a grear decision! The phone has almost evertyhing you need except for FM radio. The 16 Mb are fine considering that other phones like RAZR, nokia 1601, etc. has only 5 Mb. The audio is graet and the pictures have good quality. I totally recomend this phone to everyone, mine is blue and it's perfect for boys, it turns girlish with a pink. The only two problems are the camera bottom (too exposure, and sensitive) and the main screen, it is easy to scratch, and you just can's use when it's sunny.

I've just got my Z520i, is there anything I can do to switch the external camera button off? It's just taken over 50 pictures of my coat poocket!!!

Hi Eli. The 16MB memory can't be upgraded :(
because it's an integrated memory-not flash (with card slot) so you can't upgrade it. Even if you upgrade it mechanicly(nearly to impossible) the phone won't register that. So you will use your 16MB. Enough if used wisely! :) Later.

I was so excited to get this phone, I had the Z500 previously and just loved it but decided to get this one for the Bluetooth capability. I have not disappointed with the problems with the camera button, the memory problem and constantly having to charge it. Going to just suck it up and the Razr. I wished it would have worked out better because I really dig the SE phones. Oh well, it's always something, huh?

my sonye z520 has only 16mb, need to upgrade your memoy up to 32 mb for more mp3 foles, is that posible, please send me a response i am very interesting on this, thank you.

it's a very good instrument with a lot of flexability. good talk and stand by time.the hbh 610 wireless earset adds another dimension to this feature packed device.get yourself a second phone battery keep it charged and in the carying pouch and your set. uploading pictures from a pc to the z520a can be a problem, sony's free download software did not work for me I had to use the software that came with the bluetooth usb dongle. once i figured that out it was a breeze, now i have my own start up screensavers and background. It's just too bad we can't erase those silly installed icons. if you commute and talk, get the hbh610 it could save your life.

i also upgraded with cingular wireless from a nokia 5190 to the 520a. it's ok with the reception here in the silicon valley and it's sort of easy to use. i also have the sonyericsson hbh610 ear set (that's really what it should be called) and the handsfree thing works just fine especially for voice dialing.the only problem i had was trying to transfer my own jpg.photos into the phone via blue tooth from my p.c.the free software at sonyericsson.com did not work at all i had to use to software that came with the usb bluetooth dongle using copy and paste. then i was able to send and recieve pictures with ease using adobe elements 3 to reduce them to 320x240 and a smaller file size.too bad we can't erase the installed photos, they suck!!!

This phone is almost perfect. When we upgrade our Cell one contract to GSM, I went with a RAZR, my wife went with a SE Z500. The error of my ways became apparent within the first day.
We live in rural MN, I could give a plugged nickel about my phone functioning as a camera or MP3 player. I have the appropiate toys for these purposes. I do however, want my phone to work well as a phone.. there's a concept.
The first day, my wife and I are playing with the new phones and she has great signal anywhere in the house. Meanwhile, me an my RAZR are hugging the windows, looking at the deer and trying to make a call.
Two (2) RAZRs later... I could only recieve and make calls if I had a full 5 bars of signal. 4 or less equals "Call Failed". Yes, my wife is calling everyone on her Z500 like its a damn landline. Now, if you live in rural MN, you already know that the only time you are going to get five full bar signal strength is when you strike the cell tower with your car.
So...I've had it. I go to my dealer, he tells me about the Z520. I buy it and it is so apparent the this phone rocks. My RAZR sits there with "Emergency Only" on the screen while I use my Z520 and it sounds like a landline. Hello Moto?... you suck dirty socks.
Now the con... and it seems so silly that it just has to be an oversight given how well the Z520 functions. Yes, it is the damn camera button that everyone is talking about. At first, I thought these people were placing the clamshell phone in there pocket in the open position. Then reality strikes, if the external shutter button is pressed long enough, it will indeed take a picture of your pocket... like over and over again. How can this be?
I still love the reception of this phone for my service area. But the camera thing can and needs to be fixed in a firmware update by Sony Ericsson. If you own this phone, email SE and insist that the make this phone the perfect phone it could be.... Thank you for your support.

I have had this phone since christmas it is the best phone i have ever had i would highly reccommend it to anyone. BETTER THAN NOKIA easy to use. If you want to be noticed get this phone everyone will be envious i have had so many compliments since i had it. It is such good value, comes with pink and white covers but other colours can be bought.I was stuck cjoosing between this one and the pink razor but i have no regrets at all this is a much better phone. The razor looks basic in comparison. MUCH SEXIER PHONE. If you get the chance to purchase this buy straight away.

This phone is great! Not only is it cute, small and compact, it's very user-friendly. Considering its price, the phone gives very good value because it's got a camera (although it's only VGA), video recorder and Mp3 player. The downside is that it only has 16MB of memory, but that's all right - a cellular phone should mainly be used for calling and texting. I recommend this phone to EVERYONE!

I just got this phone early Feb, and its uber cool~ except that we cant take pictures without the "click" sound unless the phone is in silent mode. But overall, two thumbs up!!! =)
