I have the fone for a month now and I really like everything about it. There are some things like only 16mb of memory, or that you can't put a memory stick in it, but if you want that, you'll just have to spend a lot more money...
The only thing that bothers me is the fact it hangs every now and then. Have to get the battery out and back in before it starts again. Going to a SE centre soon to let it fix.

Wow! What can I say. Excellent phone. Does exactly what is says on the tin. Easy to use and also easy bluetooth with the quickshare software. Was concerned about switching from Nokia due to ease of SMS on Nokia phones but was surprised at how easy I got used to it. Not had problem since I purchased the phone and good battery life also. Good MP3 player also. Great all round phone. Certainly gets the thumbs up from me. So much so I have just bought my mum one to use with a pink cover as it is that easy to use.

Seems a neat phone to me and easy to use, however.........
does anyone know how I can switch on the Auto Answer? I've amended a profile for use when I'm on a Bluetooth hands free, but it doesn't seem to kick in.

Freezes up daily. They say it is rare that it happens, but daily is not rare. This is why:
There have been some occurrences of a phenomenon known as memory leak
on the Sony Ericsson Z520a cellular handset. It is extremely important
to note that this phenomenon is rare in its occurrence and is totally
dependant upon the simultaneous existence of multiple network
conditions.
These conditions appear to be typically associated with highly
populated, central urban settings.
Even in these network environments, memory leak will only be
experienced if the mobile does not complete at least one power cycle in a period
of approximately four days. A power cycle occurs when you turn off and
turn on the phone, remove and reinsert the battery or the battery goes
dead and complete a recharge and power on.

hi i've only used nokia and samsung phones before, now thinking of switching to this. heard SE phones have buggy interfaces. is this true?
also, how's the ease of sms-ing compared to nokia and samsung? and are SE phones durable? thanks! :))

hi i have only used samsung and nokia before, and i use the texting function most often. would love to have feedback about the ease of SMS-ing on this phone - compared to on nokia, samsung phones. thanks ;)
also, how's the durability for SE phones? better than samsung?

I feel very unsatisfy with the Z520i for its too sensitive photo button. What a stupid design to have the button that is very easily touched when you hold the phone. Unwanted photos are taken whenever you hold the phone.
Is there anyone you know how to stop that stupid button?

This phone does not have a flash but it does have a internal light to lighten dark pictures before you take the shot.

Okay I'll try and answer all unanswered inquiries as I'm free and I just feel like it.
The z520 does ring and vibrate at the same time, and you can use your own tones as your message tone.
To transfer stuff from your PC to the phone, you can use a Bluetooth headset or a USB cable. In my opinion the Bluetooth would be better as it would be compatible with any phone that has Bluetooth.
As for this phone being a girly phone, I don't think so as it is only a phone. But hey, to each his own.
And I would think that they allow MP3s to add features of course. Eventhough it has a relatively small memory, the fact remains that it can play MP3s, even if it can only fit a few songs. As for that, I would recommend to only use a certain segment from a song, and lower the bitrate. It really saves space.

Just got the samsung e530 and not too impressed as it dont vibrate and ring at the same time. The ericsson was actually my first choice so i should have stuck with my first instint, so now i will go for this if anyone can answer my questions: firstly does it ring and vibrate at same time, can you get it unlocked to work with vodaphone and can you change their standard message tones to ones youve downloaded yourself. i bought a z520 in december and had a few problems. brought it back and i'm waiting to get it back because i dont want any other. for the while i had it i fell in love and cant wait to get it back.
