hi i'm thinking about purchasing this phone, looks good & the features aren't too bad either. one thing i've been wondering though, can you change the backlight colour of the external screen or is it always blue ? thanks.

Got my z550i yesterday for Rs 8500 in Mumbai. A few impressions...
Its slimmer than I expected, and lighter. It delivers what is guaranteed. And its damn sexy.
The only hitches so far - the speaker is set on the backk side - that makes it kinda hard to hear the phone ringing and the black surface around the camera lens is a fingerprint magnet!

the output of the audio is not that much louder when compared with other mobiles. I am using both 6600 and 550 but 550's volume is too low to be heard when we are outside that's the one set back which i feel in this 550. all the other things are ok till now

Well all the keys are sunk in the body, I don't have any problems with it but I don't sms a lot. I would say if you're a sms freak the keys aren't very good for you. You need something like the keys from a Nokia 6030

I am currently using a Nokia 6125 as a primary phone and VERY PLEASED with it. Now I am planning to get this z550 as a spare. To me, Sony Ericsson (SE) phones are NOT very user-friendly if you compare them to Nokia. I had a SE z530i, HATED its keypad (difficult to SMS quickly with one hand), sold it right after using it for a few days. I wouldn't want this to happen again, and willing to give SE another go. Could anyone tell me if you were happy OR not happy with its keypad?
For those of you who own a z550, please tell me the problems you have had.
Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of getting this z550i. Have heard all the great things about it, now I'd like to hear some issues/problems that you have encountered. Would appreciate all genuine response.

Just bought this phone yesterday. Battery is holding up good so far, and i'm generally pleased with it. The interior and exterior really suck up your fingerprints though, and the projection is not very loud, but okay. This phone does NOT come with a data cable, which sucks! if you want to put data on your phone, you will have to buy a usb cable, or a bluetooth device for your pc. first impression, i think 7,5/10 is a fair reflection.

hi every1!got mine 2 weeks back. gr8 phone. radio is good, camera good under natural lighting conditions and the processor is really fast(no hang ups as yet). mp3 player is good(not as good as an ipod, but thats because of the bad earphones). and battery life is great to say the least. plays mp3s continuosly for 12 hours. to darkray, i am not able to play wma or aac files as the phone does not recognise them. could u just suggestsomething because the manual says its compatible with aac format. thnx in advance. all the future owners, just go ahead and buy it. its a price-performance champion.

if you had read all reactions you would know that the phone only comes with charger and stereo-headset. A2DP means the phone can stream music to a stereo bluetooth headset
to darkray
tnx :) I'll keep that in mind
