if u personally dont like the SE mobiles & SE,
then dont talk about SE. In ZYLO opinions only u have problem with ur ZYLO, me & my friends dont have any problems with ZYLO..
If realy have problem with ZYLO then, sell ur mobile some one & buy (LAVA, CARBON, MAX, MICROMAX, SPICE, INQ)any of this mobiles..ok....
& dont give rly on SE opinion...
ZYLO r superb in this price range...

1. Do... moreAbout sms - that's weird enough when you're about to send a text message you saw the phone connect to internet and then the recipient received a complicated picture message. If this was a mistaken (imo) by provider, then why don't you check that out by typing incorrect value in the MMS profile, hoping it can't be accidentally sending mms. Also check if the sms center's numbers on text messages settings already correct.
What read report can do? (I dont see the read report option on text message settings in my phone). It's an options in mms settings, when you enabled it, it would give you a notification when the recipient has opened/read your message. I have no idea the way your provider sending a text message, but usually they send it via gsm line instead gprs (it is possible to use gprs network too) so no need to connect to the network

Can someone respond to my two questions about sms?
1. Does the sms timer feature (delivery time in advanced) start the internet connection while sending the sms?
2. What does the read report option in advanced do, and does it also connect to the internet while sending?

I've got an idea. If after changing my sim, the phone still doesn't catch the network i'll sell it to one of you guys who looooove it so much for a special gsmarena member discount! and then go buy some crappy nokia and atleast be able to make calls.

Today was a pretty crap day wrt phone troubleshooting. The loop CC told me to check out the phone at the service center and the loop gallery after that.
First i went to the dealer to ask him if he heard of any such issue. He refused to comment but simply said try going to the gallery and changing the sim, sometimes that works.
I went to the gallery and he also said no guarantee but we can try changing the sim because my sim is old (3-4 years). But he wanted all proofs which i didn't carry with me, so i'll go tomorrow.
Then i went to the SE service center, Kaiser Telecom in vashi, where i nearly got a heart attack. He said it doesn't seem like a faulty unit because the signal is fine outdoors, but even he was surprised that my t610 is working fine in the same condition. Here's the heart attack bit, when i asked him if there were any similar complaints, he said no, but there are many other complaints, mostly of the display strip. I asked him how many and he said 150! That's one hundred fifty zylos in his service center. I thought he was exaggerating the number but he seemed serious. Then i asked how long is the problem, and he said the company hasn't been supplying parts like the strip for almost one month. Now i'm afraid to open the slide on my phone.

abhi, 05 Jan 2011When i did't have zylo i was having naite & was using i... moreFrom 2003-06 i used a T100 which wasn't very good in network or battery. After that, the last 4-5 years that i used my t610, i found that it was better than the t100 in network but worse than all other phones which my friends had like nokias etc. On the same provider as me, they had good signal on their phones at the same locations. But i saw that the k750/w800 series onwards had awesome network and battery life. So naturally, i'm really shocked that my zylo is performing worse than my t610 which was one of the worst reception phones i've used. And i've used my same sim in my friend's 5800xm for about a week and found it much better than the t610. i hated the resistive touchscreen though and couldn't wait to give it back to him.

abhi, 05 Jan 2011Have u updated ur software in hazel to latest one ?The only problem on my Hazel is its signal reception and the rests are working great. I always have my back up device when it can not do the job, so why updating? Still with the ancient r7ba076 firmware...

Just use airtel or vodafone sim.

It... moreso, did u mean that zylo & hazel have the same signal strebgth.. bcoz yari's signal often drops rapidly.. but as our friend in the previous phone just said that call clarity is not affected by signal strength in most se phones.. i would agree with that

It... moreThe latest SE phone I bought was a Hazel, I bought it because its large screen on a non touch phone and its good value to performance. Compare to my other ph from SE (k810, k660, w810, k530 etc) or my BBs or Nokia(s), Hazel is the worst in reception quality. But doesn't mean it's the worst in making a call. I'm using the best carrier regarding signal quality, even when the signal indicator only 1 bar left and the bar color turned yellow, I still can make or receive a call without any degradation in call quality. Yes in some occasions it's dead (emergency call only) while the others still 'alive' so I couldn't make a call at a moment.
Got the phone since early june, have never found the phone freezing though sometime it's a bit slow

It's not that everyone is facing this problem , some people r saying that signal reception in their yari is great but it's a more comman problem encountered by many people in yari.
