Image quality should include the more details more texture more color gradients, why you exclude these point? Because your beloved brand typical Huawei (I know you purposely use Pixel as a sugarcoating for hiding the Huawei) are excellent on HDR arigorim but weakness on restore reality scence and details? That's HDR isn't elaborate as essential of image quality but it is a feature has been gimmicked.

And i never mention about Huawei or Samsung about the details when pixel peep. But as an overall image quality, its not just about the details, its how the dynamic range produce, high contrast scene handling, highlight preservation, which is Sony weakness.
Good details in Sony alone wont save the overall image quality. I rather pick the overall image quality than pixel peeping the image everytime after captured. As a photographer, to each his own.

i am sony mobile lover since it was sony ericsson i ve never tried to buy a mobile from other brands until sony has decided to leave the middle east meanwhile i wanted to change my phone and 10 days ago i have bought a huawei p30 pro (i am a samsung hater because they did not convince me for their products) and really i have found how much is the different i was scared in the beginning bcs huawei is a chinese company but i did not expect this much of high quality product really i am amazed and delighted since sony has disappointed me maybe not only me but all the customers because we all know that they have the capability to produce so much better products but they did not!!!!!!

The sharpness with detail that isn't court as oversharpness the sharpness result has more texture and color gradient it is FULL with details, unlike those competitor wipe the detail, wipe the texture, saturate the color, it is too much image processing to lost natural looks and the competitor like Huawei also do the image sharpness but it wipe the detail just like Samsung did it.

Minimal noise reduction, but put too much oversharpening causing the image very high resulting in grainy noise & color noise, especially on low lights. Pixel 3 are the most balance in sharpness & noise reduction level, resulting with great details. And dont just rely on that gsmarena studio tool as it cant compare dynamic range, exposure level, contrast, white balance, highlight preservation, which the aspects that Sony phones lagging behind.

Why dont you bring one, that has more challanging scene, like backlit, night scene, with explanation from the reviewer not just a video if photo.

I love sony. I've always used sony phones any time I've ever tried to deviate its been a huge mistake. And that includes Samsung.
Sony is amazing.

And u have to change your mentality about single lens vs dual/triple lens. For example, XZ3 vs Mate 20. Its always a one main lens XZ3 vs one main lens on Mate 20 because the other lens are for different purpose (telephoto, ultra wide angle, super macro, better bokeh effects), a purpose XZ3 cant answer as it only has 1 lens.

Compare a Canon DSLR full frame camera with Mate 20 1/1.7" sensor with 2.0 micron pixel size? Hahahaha maybe Mate 20 is the best camera smartphone bet as its got one of the biggest camera sensor around. Also base on that video, points given to Mate 20 was close to the Canon, which is pretty impressive. Try throw away XZ3 to that comparison & it will fail miserably considering they do the super macro, low light & wide angle test, because XZ3 only has one sensor.
