    2005 saw the first water resistant phone with the Casio Canu 502S / GZ'One. Sony copied in 2006 with the Sony Ericsson SO902iWP+ (not a smartphone). Sony copied.

    2006 was the Nokia 5500 Sport. This ran on Symbian, so this is the first ever waterproof smartphone.

    The first water resistant Android phone is released by Motorola, the Motorola Defy in 2012.

    Sonys first android water resistant phone, the Xperia z was in 2013. Sony copied again.

        A smart Shooter, 11 Apr 2019Dramatic can be good or worse, it depends on individual. Hu... morePhotography terms are huge. To each his own. I kinda like the Leica-style photography effects. And to be honest, some of the shots are taken in Night Mode (which maybe look a bit unnatural, but it serve its purpose, to see things in the dark), it should be auto all the time for more natural looking. (Well, if u like it).

        As my opinion, the same blue color both on daylight & lowlights are because that means it has an excellent dynamic range & higher contrast with no overblown highlights than XZ3 does. Thats what most photographer ever dreamed of.

Hu... moreAbout color rendering, its only about preference, and its always subjective. i prefer more dramatic shot, i want to show my friend i have a perfect vacation, when sky is perfectly blue and tropical tree in perfect green. You prefer natural look. But i honestly dont think so, if camera 1 get more dramatic photo, you will love it.

          But about lo light shot like pool scene, camera 1 got dark picture, its camera 1 abvious lost, its undeniable. Camera 1 is just like midrange phone, it has all midrange phone camera problem, In daylight struggle in a costrasty scene, night shot when there is still enough light its okay, but low light scene get dark or even unusable photo.

                What the video you shared doesn't tell is the fact that ever since all of the Xperia flaggships and some midrangers like the Xperia aqua have been ip certified

                And if I would have added all of the ip rated midrangers than this list would have been even longer..... Wich other oem has a long list of ip certified Android flaggships like Sony? That's the point to be made here. Samsung, Apple and all of the other oems adopted this bodylanguage later. (ip certified metal / glass)

                Sony changed their policy simply because pple werent using it as stated in their guidelines. Yes you could submerge their phones but in fresh water. And if you do use it in let's say salt water then you have to rinse it off with fresh water thoroughly because chlorine and salt will deteriorate the components wich provide the ip rating in the first place.

                Their a company that had to change their policy later on for their own best interest since most users simply don't read the products guidelines its called damage control.

                Go ahead and compare the ip certificate of xperias to galaxies and you'll see that they are the same. Samsung and other oems learned from Sonys experience on that ground and also state the same in their user guidelines... But I haven't heard you complain about that part... Bias much yes kinda maybe?

The results? Looks more dramatic, exactly as Leica camera does. There are many terms in photography than just 'natural' & 'dull' images, as i explained in previous post.

                                Now tell me, why every award winning photography in the world, all listed pictures looks not natural at all? Because its already edited, in results for more 'livelier' & 'dramatic' images that tells story. Thats what Mate 20 intended to and its deliver, by collaboration with Leica.

I have immerse my Z2 into water but doesn't get damage, I wash it almost daily not because care about hygienic but also want to proof all the hater doesn't do so to their phone. Everything has been over criticize, why should we care about your opinion. Did you immerse your phone or wash your phone.

Remember when sony advertised their phones can be used while swimming? Then when many people really did it and broke their phones, suddenly sony refused to take responsibility and then sony said not to bring the phones while swimming because the phone is actually not more than just "water splash resistant".

                                      Sony have hurt many people because of its half-baked features and its bad attitude to customers and also its irresponsibility. And sony asked premium price for all of those crappiness.

                                      Dont blame samsung for sony's failure. The reason why sonymobile becomes inferior is because of its own fault.
