Have you messaged sony ? or visited sony forums ? just to see if others are having the same issues?

Sony Xperia 10 iii:
I like this phone. (I had the XZ3 before this one.) The SCREEN is really nice, great colors, great clarity. I like that the screen is FLAT. I like the fact that the edges of the screen are NOT rounded. I get a whole lot LESS accidental function changes because my fingers are NOT touching the glass, as I hold the phone normally. Thank you Sony.
This phone is much LIGHTER and SMALLER than the XZ3, and it is FLAT, not curved on the back. It is MUCH easier to handle normally.
The BATTERY life is GREAT. I don't have to worry about topping off the battery before going to a long shift at work. It seems like the battery will last for DAYS, even if I am watching videos. I have not really tried to use it up completely.
The CAMERA has a x2 zoom and a 1/2 macro function. My PHOTOS are quite good.
It seems like a take fewer photos but a much better quality, focus, clarity.
The external speaker is clear but not really loud. I noticed that there is a sound enhancer function (my words) in the settings to improve the sound quality when using Bluetooth headphones. (I found that function when setting up a set of Sony Wireless Headphones.)
Frankly, I was looking for the Xperia 5 iii when I bought this one. (It was not out yet in my area.) But I am quite pleased with this phone. It is a very good phone for a lot less money than the 5 iii. Cheers

Anyone not liking the slight pause from tapping the shutter button to actual capture, it is mainly that little animation of the focal point that is making it feel slower.
It's not a total work around but if you go to accessibility settings, you will find a "remove animations" option, and this will make the camera image capture feel quicker.
the downside is animations system wide are removed or reduced, so if you like animations in the UI, it's not a great workaround....but if like me you just want efficient quick actions, then it's a little bonus.

Please don't take this in the wrong way, but have you double checked the sound settings ?
also check in the accessibility section, to make sure the sound settings near the bottom of the screen are set correctly.
Can you play media loud enough ?is the issue purely ringtone / notification based ?

Eko Briketi, 22 Sep 2021I guess this is what you want. I'm ok with what I have... moreMake no mistake, it's primarily not a criticism of the phone: it's a criticism on a lack of imagination of what could possibly be improved about this phone in its current state.
I'm ok with the phone, as these were known limitations at the time of purchasing it (except for lack of AOD, which I found slightly surprising).
Security updates extended beyond 2 years would be very welcomed though, as 2 years really is equivalent of shitting on your customers these days, especially with the premium prices that Sony commands. The only reason I accepted this, is that you'll very likely be able to install a third-party firmware after two years (such as SailFish).

- fix for low brightness issues
- always-on display (no-brainer with the current battery life)
- 4+ years of android security fixes rather than 2 years, to reduce waste and the inconvenience of having to change your phone long before the physical device wears out.

With reference to your enquiry regarding the display issue on the Xperia 10 III, please be informed that after investigating a number of cases related to this issue; we can advise that as a workaround you may turn on th brightness to the highest level.
We can also confirm that Sony engineers have identified the root cause, and they will implement a fix in an upcoming software update, which will be released very shortly as it is a software glitch not a harware issue.
We express our apologies for the inconvenience caused and hope you wait for a little while longer until the software fix gets implemented.

After a few minutes of high brightness usage , the screen issues don't seem noticeable now

I've had mine for about 3 months. I can get a full 2 days on a charge. That's with an average of about 2 hours video calls a day.
A 1 hour voice call barely moves the battery. In short the battery lasts about 4 times as long as the 3 year old S9 it replaced.
Everything works fine. Don't know why you would want more.
