Samsungs phones are full of crap software, which can't disable or remove and which slows down the phone and uses a lot battery. Sony uses essential software only and users can install special, whay they need, from Google Play.

Hi!
I bought Sony 10 III few weeks ago. First impression is of a classy phone but after just a day of using it I was disapointed. Very few options and features at all, slow charging and poor display performance. Even the camera and buit-in music player are at low end compared to what is on the market these days, especially for such a price.
I am a typical Samsung user and I tried to give Sony a chance after superior description I had read about their new series... But looks like I am going back to Samsung next time.
Cheap device advertised as something special it's not.

Im fine with with 12MP camera and 6inch screen. But why no 60FPS?
Also prefer at least 90Hz screen than iP67, though iP67 way more important than 90Hz.
This phone seems will be very good phone for long turn, but due the my silly things mentioned at above I have to skip. :(

I am testing this phone since yesterday and all seems fine, the only aspect I don't understand is why they call this screen "OLED". It might be on a technology level, but it does not behave like one at all - The pixels do not turn off on true black colour and low brightness washes everything in grey-green instead of fading out into proper black.

Same, I only charge mine twice a week or so
People don't realize what it means to have a device with a 4500 mAh battery, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, it is designed not to suck power constantly. You can stick a giant battery on a poorly designed phone with crazy specs, but it will be constantly sucking battery life and lighting a fire in your pocket.
"Oh the screen is only 60 hz"
Well that buys me hours of extra battery life
"Oh the screen is so small and narrow"
That buys more battery, also fits in my hand better.
"The CPU is so low compared to Chinese phones that are similarly priced"
Well the CPU is enough for me, and has way better battery life than those phones
"It charges so slow!"
Charges fast enough for me, and it lets the battery not get hot and live longer
"the camera is only 13 MP"
OK this doesn't relate to battery life but who CARES?
This phone isn't for everyone, but if battery life is important to you - battery LIFE not battery SIZE - then maybe you can see why people like it.
Maybe benchmarks matter more, or playing games plugged into a wall. Or maybe you are taking pro photos with your phone with the intention of printing full sized posters. In that case maybe think of other phones (or a separate camera).

Also, I use the built in battery care feature and only charge the phone up to 80% each time. So with lighter use and with charging to 100%, I could easily see 5-6 days out of it.

I think these all relate to the Japanese market in some form, but am not certain (certainly SO-52B and SOG04 do).
Firmware can also be downloaded with the XperiFirm tool.
