Sony Xperia 10 V renders leak showing familiar design

Sony's Xperia 10 IV mid-ranger was announced last May and released in June, and so naturally we expect the Xperia 10 V to take its place at some point in the next few months. Today, a bunch of high quality CAD-based renders of the upcoming model have been leaked by a traditionally reliable source.

If you were expecting a fresh new design compared to the 2022 model, you're in for quite the disappointment. The Xperia 10 V shown in these images has the exact same design language as the Xperia 10 IV, right down to button positioning, camera island size and shape, and LED flash positioning.

The dimensions are eerily similar too, although not identical. The Xperia 10 V measures 153.3 x 68.4 x 8.5 mm, whereas the Xperia 10 IV came in at 153 x 67 x 8.3 mm. So the new one has gained a tiny bit of fat on all sides. The 2023 model keeps the 2015-era top and bottom bezels, no waterdrop notches or hole punches allowed.

The huge big new thing for the 10 V is allegedly the fact that it will be the first in the 10 series to feature stereo speakers. Yes, really, not even the 10 IV can boast such an achievement. Its display is rumored to be 'around 6.1 inches diagonally', which is a teeny tiny bit bigger than its predecessor's 6" panel, and might account for the minute sizing increase too.

I would have liked if it had stereo sound and a smaller format, but since it keeps those dimensions I guess I won't buy it this time either. Meanwhile, Sony releases more compact phones but only in Japan. Sadly, this has made me leave them compl...
