Vineet Reddy, 25 Feb 2020Don't know what people are complaining about even though SO... moreThat 4000mah battery is small for 4k display.
Also the screen doesn't have 90hz native refresh rate. It's 60hz.
90hz is achieved through software trickery which is just a gimmick.

a, 25 Feb 2020agreed. I prefer the fingerprint scanner at the backside.Yes fingerprint scanner at the back just feels natural as you rest your fingers there plus that physical button can be customized for whatever you need, clicking selfies, scrolling through gallery without touching the screen, etc.

AnonD-874772, 25 Feb 2020The specs are quite good. I'm glad Sony returned the 3.5mm ... moreUnder display fingerprint reader = worse battery life. Definitely prefer the physical one; especially since this one is on the side of the phone.

The current generation of flagship proccesors can't even record in 30fps, personally I find it useless. And also, I prefer the larger bezels over notch/punch hole, it gives you a full view experience.

Don't know what people are complaining about even though SONY got lot many things right.
4K 21:9 90Hz
10bit(8bit+frc)
3.5mm Jack
Dedicated dual front facing true stereo speakers
Hi-Res Audio
4000mAh battery
What else do you want.
When discussing about camera specially the primary camera lot many people are misinformed or unknowingly taking it for the same setup as previous year's XPERIA 1 which it is not. All the sensors got a bit of rework and increase in size while maintaining same pixel count. Don't know why people are unable to understand one simple thing that
Larger sensor(size) + lower Pixel count will give superior image of lower resolution in comparison Smaller sensor(size) + greater Pixel count giving inferior image of greater resolution.
What good is a 8K image if it inferior in quality to superior 4K image. End of the day 98% of people are going to view it on 4K or even 1080p monitors.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2020the name really sucks... 1 and 2 ?? nice confusion like alw... moreClearly, you didn't read the reveal article. It's named as Xperia 1 Mark 2. It's a nod to how Sony names their DSLRs and dedicated cameras.

Finally, another phone that meets my four requirements to be a good phone, a screen with no notches or holes, standard USB, headphone port, and micro sd slot. If it had wireless charging it would meet all of my bonus points, but I can do without that feature.

The specs are quite good. I'm glad Sony returned the 3.5mm jack and increased the battery capacity. But it should have offered an under display fingerprint reader, smaller bezels and 8k video recording.
