BliTTzZ, 30 Sep 2020From what I know they are going to improve 1ii in some area... more"crazy experiments" is somehow needed... some fans or plain xperia users just dislike the curve back of the xz2 xz3 series, especially those who wants to upgrade... but what is good about it is not everyone hates it and not everyone is due for upgrade that time, "fans" of any brand can take good care of their fave phone... i only upgrade my workphone now, coming from z5 premium... the xz premium was a temptation, but thought it is illogical to upgrade that fast (despite of skipping the x series)... the next premium was xz2 premium... the display may improve a lot, but the curve for a big phone is not my taste and i was looking for another hole than the charging hole - the audio jack...
then premium died, unless the xperia 1i is really the successor, i almost give in for the lack of audio jack since it ticks most of my requirements... but when rumors about the return of the hole came... i waited...
then 1 ii was announced!
i preordered it... wondering where is it now since it was imported from hongkong to philippines... ha ha...

And indeed this strategy stays in line how their cameras are improved with each generation. Because the same people are in charge now for both these departments.

But will it be better than XPERIA 1 II or will it go down as a foolish experiment. Lets see. I really don't have high expectations for XPERIA 1 III as SONY has a bad habit of ruining the Design or Features as an experiment after delivering a very decent phone. I don't understand why instead of experimenting they don't try to improve on what they already got to perfection.

Btw am already email sony "in sony community officials website" regarding of lot of people complaints "including myself"

Yes I have a old huawei mate 20 huawei will unlock 144Hz for me🤣🤣🤣
And yes people care about refresh rate if you use 120Hz than back to 60Hz the phone looks slow AF

Welp thanks Sony for having put all greatest newest technologies in this and considering such a price for it that I'll never be able to even think about buying this beast of a phone. -_-

There is Nothing wrong with this Design. It is Unique. It stands out from the Crowd of Similar looking Bunch. We need Top and Bottom Bezel which is giving us the pleasure of Front Facing Speakers and MOST IMPORTANTLY NOTCH-LESS DISPLAY.
Why would you Ruin it.

Dear sony:
I know you are making one of the most interesting smartphones right know, that are easliy distinguishable from other phones, but if you can do what i am writing next, that will be the absolute most beautiful and stunning smartphone ever made, i am telling you, it will be extremely timeless
1)make the upper chin as small as the bottom chin, in my opinion that is the perfect size of being small, and yet being useful, plus the symmetry will make it just awesome,
2)make the side bezels almost no existing, dont go overboard by eding edged display, but i think the most perfect smartphone is the s20 ultra, copy that, very subtle curves, that looks pleasing. But not too much that makes it impractical.
3)get your loop design back, the back curving at the edges like note 20 iltra makes it not only look good, but also makes it easy to use, even when the phone is big.
4)the last one, please bring back your typical in sony fashion sharp edges, i miss that 2017 sharp edges, they were so good, giving that now with with the above things will make it the absolute best looking smartphone ever, period
I wish yoy can read this, and emplement thus in your future phones

I do also have OnePlus 8 Pro which has loud speaker. It's almost no difference because xperia 1 ii has front facing speakers

... moreNo, I didn't, but speaker test is available here. I guess they're testing the phone and the sound signature is pretty much the same as the 1 II.

pan, 24 Sep 2020really? i hope it is possible to skip or disable it... it m... moreI think you dint get what I said. I clearly stated 4K will remain at 60Hz cannot be pushed to 120Hz. But if you want faster refresh rate the Resolution will be cut down to 1080p to get 120Hz.
No one will be setting it 1080p 120Hz. 99% of people will be using it at 4K 60Hz

Still worth getting 1 II... moreBoth will be great. If you want the 4K experience you have with the XZP, go for the 1 II.
If you want to try the 120 Hz display, the 5 II is the one, but some say the 1 II will get the 120 Hz option.
The other big differences comes from the size and lack of ToF sensor on the 5 II.

Still worth getting 1 II... morecoming from z5 premium, i decided not to wait for 5 ii... i think pixel count should be higher on oled than on ips... if you dont want to migrate to lower resolution display, get the 1 ii... but if you want the high refresh rate hype then get the 5 ii... i dont think 5 ii is significantly smaller than 1 ii... the latter still seemed to be hand friendly based on what i see on youtube, unless they really have big hands...

Vineet Reddy, 24 Sep 2020For all those who have been Crying that XPERIA 1 II doesn&#... morereally? i hope it is possible to skip or disable it... it might be good on a native 4k display, but it spells b a t t e r y d r a i n... sure i want to try the "motion blur" as soon as my 1 ii arrives, but i would stay on 60hz esp when im more on content consumption (might try a hand on content creation with its cinema pro, but am not really creative to begin with, at least i can view the clips on a 4k phone before sharing it on tv with the fam)
