When is that. Because I am not able to find any solid info regarding its Release Date. Checked SONY US, UK and Japan website for the News Nothing related to XPERIA 1 III release date came up.

But unless it is directly posted on SONY Official Youtube Chanel or posted on their Website it is not confirmed. So yeah. Till the real specs get revealed officially by SONY all the discussion on this thread or any other Forum or the Youtube videos are just what community expects it to be. Nothing is confirmed.
Like today the News came out that XPERIA 1 III will have 12GB and 16GB RAM Variants with 256GB and 512GB Storage Variants. Even-though some websites are calling it to be confirmed as the info leaked from solid and reliable source. It still not to be considered as what we get as a final Product Spec. Nothing is to be considered as final unless SONY comes out and confirms or agree on it themselves(which they will never do till the day or revealing the Final Spec List).

For all those who think this is going to be Native 2K 120Hz will sadly be disappointed. This will have 4K. But if the 2K 120Hz mode is available as an option in the Menu then that is a possibility.
Besides that there is only one way SONY can get 4K 120Hz that is by being SONY.
Three Possibilities.
1. No 120Hz
2. 2K 120Hz as Option in Menu
3. 4K 120Hz thanks to SONY Processing unit.
Guess first 2 options have better possibility of coming true. But if SONY somehow pulls off the 3rd Option then SONY will be top of the line unbeatable and be SONY. Not like SONY dint pull a stunt like this before.
Anyhow 4K will be the Resolution and nothing less.

since Google is taking away its free photos storage i will look forward to have a flagship with sd card slot , but i think 6.5" is a bit small for 21:9 , something like 7" it's not that big and perfectly pocketable

According to Sony's belief, as in resolution functionality as well for the usage, as they had been making TVs and movies for decades, QHD usage wasn't too broad compared to 4K and FHD and act as a stop-gap for multimedia resolution, though QHD did gain more usage after it in smartphones and more 2020-2021 flagship adopted QHD than ever. Nevertheless, it is still less compared to FHD and 4K in general terms. Plus, the difference in visibility, FHD to QHD (177,77%) is lesser compared to FHD to 4K (400%) and/or QHD to 4K (225%).
So, it's understandable why Sony choose 4K over QHD these times, and the force from users for Sony to adopt a higher resolution in 2014, just weight in more. The only time Sony put QHD/QHD+ on their phones/tablets twice, which are Xperia Z4 Tablet in 2015 (and that's 16:10) and Xperia XZ3 in 2018 for their first OLED phone. There's Xperia Z4v, but that's canceled. After that, their halo flagship always used 4K since Z5 Premium until 1 II(I), and with Xperia Pro, the usage of 4K is even clearer than before.
I do agree with some of your arguments like announcing 1 III later, brighter screen, etc.

yea a later announcement is fine! we want a MUCH shorter waiting time between announcement and product availability
in terms of user experience, they should definitely max resolution at QHD+, and focus on other things like 1-120hz variable refresh rate, battery life, brightness, sunlight contrast, colour accuracy etc.
4K is not so useful unfortunately, but is a marketing/PR differentiator that I'm afraid they'll have to keep after sticking with it for so long

So I figured something...considering the 888 has been having overheating issues, what if Sony added a co-processor to aid the 888 for the heating, better clocking and maybe even giving it enough power to pull off 4K@90Hz? Oppo was working on that so it wouldn't be a tough idea to pull off.

+ HD resolution out of the box (the one I set on each flagship), but with sweet 120Hz
- the screen too small, surprising me a bit as i thought i would be fine with a smaller phone, but not anymore.. hard to read text
+ no gray lowlight backbleeding like on every Samsung/OnePlus
- absolutely slippery, ugly frame (when will this slippery madness end?)
+ light body
- unwanted keypresses and unlocks due to hard to find fp and too many buttons
+ the camera button was useful as it could trigger shot and had half press to control focus
- i couldn't swipe from the edge... i had the high quality foil reduced and reapplied, still not -> showstopper
+ totally unknown but fantastic SmartStay function that works in night, cool
- very abandoned OS, almost nothing there, shocks even a Oneplus user, also no desktop apps... no sync, no dex.. little software added value
+ SideSense is another take on Samsung function, and could be great if it was possible to trigger it (weird double tap on side)
- selfie pics were absolutely weird
+ physical fingerprint fast, again don't buy black color as it's hard to located
- no wireless charging is a huge huge minus, hard to swallow fact
+ massive codec support unlike Samsung riddance of AptX variants
- not a curved display... i just realized how useful it is
+ tinies status bar i ever seen, without the fogging notch
Unable to swipe, i could perhaps return the foil, but i returned the phone. Anyway, too small screen and no Qi isn't something to give up. Nice 1 day with the phone.

I'm a oneplus 7t pro owner thinking I might make the switch. The res. is only slightly better but who could say no to micro sd storage AND headphone jack? All on the latest chipset too lol. Also, with only the latest and greatest gorilla glass? Hell yeah, I'm in. Idk if my phone is considered true 4k though so meh.
