    They improved the sensors with dpdaf, and they stick with main one 1/1.7 cause of the insanely fast readout which we can now see in the other two, it's quite a good improvement, i saw the standard camera being improved, and i really hope the optics are better, because the last iteration i saw was not that good at resolving details, sony can do a 98% efficient lens - best shots n the world so far, but huge (90mm f2.8 macro).
    Perhaps they worked with zeiss not only on coatings, hope to see more details resolved.
    Ps, a lens can make a 24mpx sensor look sharper than a 63mpx

        Manufacturers are putting big spec sheet to survive the competition
        There's a lot of examples

        -Snapdragon once decide make 821 with 4 cores SoC but working great like 8 cores, phones like LG G6 had no problem running heavy task on their era, but consumers especially China prefer a bigger spec sheet and phones with 821 were unpopular

        -Ram? They have successfully fooled the entire world as well, now we look 8gb as a minimum, yet our smartphone everage usage were just 2-4gb.

        -Megapixels? 48 is a minimum nowadays, "general" consumers believe it and look down on lower res phones. Manufacturers tried to advertise pixel binning as the solution
        A binned pixels of 12 mp is different from True 12 mp.
        High mp only works well on taking outdoor at sunny weather, while we oftenly use our smartphone inside buildings, but again. Most users using high mp just to post on your social media and compressed by server, and who would zoom your pic anyway?
        For specific use, professionals can easily upscale the res.

        -8K recording? Now most users prefer phones with ability to record 8K which is stup1d, so ... companies had successfully advertise 8K which is pointless
        Recording in 4K HDR looks WAY better than regular 8K. Peoples are crazy about resolution, they forgot that colors are one of the most important part to make anything looks better

        -Fast Charging 50W++? Wow, unfortunately they had succesfully advertise this part as well and brainwashed the entire world
        Anything beyond 50+ needs separate battery which reduces the capacity
        Overheating reduce your battery lifespan, reduce your oled screen lifespan, reduce your SoC lifespan,etc and it is much worse if you charge while gaming
        Sony is the only that writes a HEALTHY battery after 3 years
        Their phones is not made to last for 3 years, but made to stay HEALTHY after 3 years
        it was ANNOYING as well to carry Big chargers with thicker cables, yet the durability compared to small chargers are the same. Chargers nowadays wont fit in pockets anymore which is suck. It could forced to fit but really disturbing "especially for men" we dont bring bags

        -what else? The trend of Triple - Quad Camera or even Penta? It is becoming a standard as well. Most people doesnt even use ultra wide, portrait/bokeh
        Ultra Wide Lens? You could easily bought the fish lens which mostly cost less than $50 and put it to your main lens
        Portrait Lens? Just for Blur? There's a lot of software/apps to blur the background, EASILY.
        Macro? Most phones with Macro lens are GIMMICK and useless(from my own experience)
        Using Ultra Macro mode on realme x2 pro compared to poco x3, mi 10t, the differences are MASSIVE. Macro lens is generally the same as ultra wide. Because most phones are using cheap lens
        Only microscopic on x3 pro & monochrome from op 8&9 deserve those camera slot
        If only they would removed these useless Lens and make space for Headphone Jack, 3rd Mic, spot for bigger sensor size on main camera? or something better instead those useless lens.

        -Curved Screen? Well i dont think it needs an explaination. I believe most of you HATE curved especially while gaming. It just looks nice not feel nice.
        If only Samsung try to bring the bezel less technology on their qled tv lineup to smartphones
        Bezel less flat sreen would be GREAT than any curved tech.

        What else? Feel free to add

        Well i couldnt fully blame these guys, but unfortunately most of them are hardhead, refuse to accept the fact and ultra LAZY to learn from internet, yet they DARE to give sharp opinions and acknowledge the experts
        Sad society

        Maybe Gsmarena should start protecting dying brand from hateful comments? Especially when they make great phones with unique features like no other, these nonsense arguments and hate speech should end lol

You can pinch to zoom, so you can see... moreYou are right, higher megapixels are great especially for a DSLR, but we're talking about smartphones here with sub 1-inch sensors. It will be usable in low light, that's why pixel binning is essential, obviously a real 12MP sensor will produce better low light photos than one with pixel binning but in daylight, well, it's not a real 108MP sensor. The bayer filter is arrange exactly like those found on a 12MP sensor, so what's wrong? Imagine if you have a 4K OLED display and you slap a 240p LCD on it, sure it does give you more details than a raw 240p LCD display, but it isn't 9 times more detailed.

            Sony is the manufacturer of many super high-end professional cameras and camera for other flagship smartphones. However, for some reasons they still refuse to put ultra high-resolution sensors on the new 1 iii. Also, there's no optical image stabilization. How can they call the 1 iii a flagship phone in 2021 without the above features?

              Sony might be set to only increase the price by $100 globally ($150 in the US due to mmWave) which is a modest increase for the extra co-processors, Periscope, and better chipset.

Well you don't have to look further than Sony's own Alpha S III that retails around $3,500. Again when it comes to cameras, it's all about the requirements of the user. Alpha S series is targetting the video creators who appreciates the low light capability and they hit a perfect balance at 12.1 mp.

                    But lets be honest. For the above given usage there are possibly no Flagship Range Smartphones which can last one Full Day.

                    In that sense it will last good 80-90%+ of what S21/S21 Ultra and One Plus 9 Pro Last. Not bad considering that it has 4K Resolution and is at 120hz. To achieve that it is running two processors.

                        Looks like a killer flagship, but does this have a LPTO screen? If not I can't imagine it having a good battery life with a 4k @120hz screen.

                          Years ago Sony almost give up after xz2 premium and quits most of the markets
                          There is no XZ3 Premium, just XZ3 without 4K screen
                          They got confident again after their fans shouting and demand headphone jack which is gone in all flagships on the era
                          They comeback with Xperia 1 as their first 4K
                          Xperia 1 II were extremely late release, seems like they just want to end smartphone division people says because covid, but other major companies doesnt affected by covid and release their Flagship on time. But fortunately they got some inspiration from nearest competitor, Sharp who implemented BFI on zero2
                          They got excited to push refresh rate higher without the need of SoC and decide to continue with Xperia 1 III and here they bring BFI

                          But people still fooled by megapixels and comparing to other gimmick spec sheets from other brands, really low interest rate on Sony products

                          I believe Xperia 1 V is the last

                          They will mastered BFI technology and match with Zero2, bring LTPO/IGZO for the screen, an adaptive refresh rate, also using an SoC that finally supports 4K@120Hz in future
                          And 100% coverage area for their real time AF sensor which is just 70% on X1 III

                          So that Xperia 1 V would be their complete perfect creation before ending the smartphone division, perfectly timed when 3nm SoC arrive.
                          Because after 3nm is probably not going to happen and requires long time, the R&D for 1-2nm cost beyond $Billions. not economically effective

                              Hope Sony will bring back the Cyber Shot camera like Sony Satio Phone. Every movements, it can capture clear (no blur or mess). I used to use it (fan wing is standstill even in running).

Especially considering the very poor Software Updates support. Sony's market is gone down a lot from before and they can't afford to price their phones this steep. They just aren't Samsung or Apple, that is the fact. They have to price it aggressively if they wish to survive any longer.

                                        Steep prices, but I've own Sony phones in the past and they last a very long time, plus bug free operation all those years, and no lagging as time goes by.
