I have Sony Xperia 1 iii..
¹.durability..been using for a year and 3 months now, nice build quality because it has dropped several times but no screen or back glass damage.. rating is excellent
².software... I really don't like much about the software since i have lot of overheating issues and some calling app crashes.. rating is fair
³. camera... The camera is something I'm very confused about, sometimes good sometimes great and sometimes very bad. The front camera is a mess, the back camera sometimes capture too dark photos. I do market products with my phone and i take lot of photos, i feel doing too much processing to get something good.. rating is average.
⁴. Entertainment.... The multimedia is great, Sony has this always as the winner, sound on hands-free is spectacular and watching video has a rich tones of colour well balanced and contrasted to fit you liking... Rating is excellent
⁵. Battery... Battery is a bit above fair since it drains quickly when you're doing some gaming and also goes so hot when using for multiple tasks. Idle mode is great, video streaming is very good but gaming and lot of multitasking is bad.... Rating is fair/good
⁶. Handling... I think i like the phone because i feel very comfortable each time i hold it, I can't stop using a phone like this because it's the best size i love to hold. The screen do accommodate lot of content when viewing unlike other phones that cannot contain as it does.. rating excellent
Headphones jack.. always the best to have on a phone.. sound output is excellent too.. rate.. excellent
⁷.Software update.... nothing to say until August 2024... Hoping Sony gives android 14 (compulsory)& 15 if possible

I think Sony left the 3.5mm there for audio in, for recording video and soundtrack not for listening purposes since Qualcomm doesn't care about wired audio only Bluetooth.
Sony has dedicated music players with DAC that costs more than this phone.

nickname, 28 Dec 2023If this phone can have a microSD slot, a headphone jack, AN... moreThe 3.5mm jack and microSD are the main reasons why I only use Sony Xperia 1 phones. I avoid *sung and also Chinese phones.
I just wish it were bigger. 6.5" is too small for me, it's more like women's size, but it is what it is, at least it's not 6.2 or something. The camera and its features are always great, the pro mode is similar to Sony's big mirrorless Alpha cameras.
But the 35mm jack and microSD are absolutely vital for some people like me.

If this phone can have a microSD slot, a headphone jack, AND is 8.3mm thick (about 0.6mm thinner than a certain phone with a built-in stylus) with IP68 rating, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why other phones can't have the same.
Everything on paper about this phone is near perfect, except the 21:9 ratio, but I'm sure there'll be people who like it (I personally don't). Too bad they don't sell these in our region, or I'd have got one.

Anyone who knows why Sony can't/won't add a high quality DAC on it's phones since the they still got the 3.5mm, I mean they also got walkmans

Smartphones in particular require tons of computational photography just because of their small sensors if anyone wants to take a 'natural photo' just look at the scene

This smartphone is trully amazing device and 95% reviews dont even test VideoPro, HLG, Auto mode etc. Video performance is a little better than on iPhone 14Pro. Slow motion from 1V looks like magic. Most of the testers came up with some imaginary problems, such as not focusing the telephoto lens at 5cm, or heating up while recording 4K at 30C (I recorded 4K120fps at 30C and the phone did it amazingly well).
I was shocked what 1V can do at night and slow motion. Your hate won't help anything here, everything is on YT and people like it
I regret that I had to return it after the tests :(

Bad support, poor functionality and insane price. Google, samsung, iphone and even xiaomi supports at least 4 OS upgrades + more security updates.

I mean everyone including oppo, xiaomi, sony, samsung, iphone. But everyone uses different algorithms that's why photos comes out differently. It's a personal taste. If you want 100% natural photo regular photo is the way. Not phone :)

I am a Xperia user since... moreBattery health and durability is true but definitely not the software it's lacking some customization features even a dedicated recorder and album as someone who switched from Samsung the Xperia has a lot more bugs too and the camera isn't for basic point and shoot the manual modes for what they are truly incredible but you won't be using those 90% of the time.
