Nannu, 17 May 2023Boring design. Need for curved display for sony xperia. And you'll regret it if they really put it there.

              1. Pointless 4k screen

Yes, that's the only one. Every other bit of criticism of 1V in that themselves deserve extremely harsh words. Whoever wrote that post has only started research on smartphones a few days ago, because the level of ignorance is astonishing. As a result, it will take ages trying to write on every single, very basic errors made there. I'll just point to one or two:

              1. Where's the evidence of "slower" wifi standards? Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, tri-band not fast enough for you huh?
              2. Which flagship offers IR blaster, IR biometric sensor, ultrasonic FP scanner in same package? If none why you expect Sony to have all? Sony has none, so what? Does any of your favourite flagship offer microSD, headphone jack, IP65, reliable side mounted fingerprint scanner?

I keep looking for a 512gb model that would work with Verizon (CDMA), but have only found unlocked 256gb models that should work with all carriers. Verizon still using relatively antiquated network instead of GSM. The only model number I can actually find is the XQ-DQ72, but when I look up 512 models, they seem to say that they won't work with Verizon/Sprint.

h3keem, 12 May 2023charging speed is from stone age I've seen this...complaint...in other forms previously. Are there times in most users' lives where they think "Oh, man! I have GOT to charge my phone in 30 minutes!!!" Maybe it's a numbers game. I suppose people could even say a 4K is more a numbers game than actual performance or aesthetics. I just don't believe that the standard charging use for people is an actual need to charge a phone less than an hour a day.

SHADEK 007, 11 May 2023I love sony xperia 1 v.they improved a lot in there new pho... moreI currently have an Xperia 1 III. I don't mind the physical fingerprint sensor at all. It gives me several options of what finger to use, depending on how I pick the phone up. My old LG V30 had the best fingerprint sensor placement of any phone, high(ish) on the back so a finger fell naturally to it. Personally, I don't understand the desire for under-screen fingerprint readers beyond that it tech that is is a step or two beyond a physical sensor. Maybe others can speak to that. I've had in-screen sensors also, and I just don't get the appeal.

It has same weight of Z Flip 4, phone with very similar size (just thinner).
Near 40g lighter than iphone pro max.

Excellent phone with microsd ,jack 3.5 mm,no punch hole etc, but the only big cons in the phone width. It should be at least 75 mm, not 71, if you take out bezels, you are left with about 67mm screen.non sense !!!!!!!

While everyone is arguing about image stabilisation, I am at least happy that one manufacturer was too stubborn to remove the headphone jack and the SD Card slot on their highest end model. They have showed that if it is expensive it should include everything under the sun, unlike other manufacturers. I don't care if without them it looks "more luxurious", Sony didn't cheap out and went the full 9 yards with this phone and its features.

Anonymous, 25 May 2023Super steady means it's very good for human eyes, no s... more60 needs EIS, 120fps does not.
If it was so good, then samsung would not need to offer the "super steady" from super wide lens.

24/30/60/120fps have different purposes. Somehow ppl think quality increases, which has no relation.
