Nokia 808 did that because of obvious technological limitations a decade ago. Nokia couldn't find a large sensor in 4:3 ratio so they had to crop one. There's no photographic benefits of cropping.
But today such excuse is ridiculous. Especially Sony, who themselves manufacture most sensors on any smartphones today, makes many large 4:3 sensors which need no cropping. But when it comes to own devices, they make such stupid decision. I mean the enitre Xiaomi 13 lineup uses 1" 4:3 sensors made by Sony! Iphone Pro/max uses 1/1.28" Sony sensor which is 4:3!

Just a sim1 and sim2 slot, and a pin needing one, is what Id call garbage, cause there is no any sd card option there whatsoever anyway, and no darn pin around when you re in a need.
Equating minutes in one hour to Aeons is just...ugh, some teenagers just...
30W charging is even too much in my opinion. The damage to batteryhealth is not worth the 20 min shorter charge. (that would be 20 aeons in teen slang, yah?)
I Still have that first Xperia X Performance with qnovo batterycare tech, and after 7yrs now, battery is still alive and working, the phone still completely usable. Cause it had no quick chargers!

I missed that full 16:9 for photo on previous models that I much preffered, so Im glad to see this happening

Mobilemaster, 11 May 2023Which phone can be fully charged in only 10 minutes??Hah exactly. I think the fastest on the market is Oppo's 125W SuperVooc that can charge to full in 20 minutes. A Vivo concept phone in 2020 could do it in 15 minutes but it was never released.

I love my Xperia 1 IV - no point to switch to 1 V - but have to admit the cameras looks better now on the back of 1 V

There are plenty of them and lenty of others charge if not within 10 minutes then within 20 minutes.
And waiting 20 minutes and 200 minutes is a huge difference and in 2023 with all hype aroind Sony Xperia 1 V made this phone not so special.

This 3-5x continuous zoom is gimmicky and none will notice any benefit of continuity in between. This also makes it complex and use more resources. Better use that to make two good quality separate telephoto lenses. Such as 3x and 7x or 5x and 10x etc

What I don't understand is if this phone has a 52 MP camera, why on Earth they use only 48 MP? If they would use the whole, then the binned images would be a little bit higher MP.

Shared Sim slot is a total garbage.
On a one hand its nice they still allows for Micro SD card on the other hand fact that this device does not support 2 separate sm cards along with memory card make this thing useless.
By the way 30W charging in 2023 is really stupid.
Waiting eons to charge my device to deplete it in few hours and again waiting for a very long time.
In unveling cinematics been said this phone is good for gaming.
It would be if the charging time is not more than 10 uop to 15 miutes.
Waiting few hours makes this thing obsolette for gaming.
