Main reason this smartphone won't sell S wel as the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series and iPhone 15 series is because it lacks good marketing . This smartphone is well able to match Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra same with Sony Xperia VI in 2024. Sony mobile needs market this towards people are willing to bail on Samsung Galaxy S and Apple iPhones.

Totally different. 192KHz is the highest sample rate in the market today. Not sure if you understand the specs you're looking at. Even if the sample rate was higher, you wouldn't be able to hear the difference. This phone is 24bit/192KHz which translates to a data rate of 9216kbps. There's really no competition to the Sony Xperia for audio quality.

NeverPayOver1000eur, 10 Mar 2024You clearly aren't the intended audience and 1 day of ... more1. It is by far the most consistent camera I've ever used. However, it is not a "point-and-shoot". It is meant for professionals.
95% of people are point and shoot guys. That's why sony is dying.
2. The telephoto is fine. Unless you are in total darkness, by which no other phone will do better.
No it's not actually. You would have different opinion if you would own another device. Now you are trying to justify your overpriced purchase
3. Pixel's camera is garbo compared to the 1V and HDR bracketing isn't a dealbreaker but that's just my opinion.
1 V is garbo compared to pixel. Starting with auto shot mode and ending with portrait mode(2 the most used modes accross all smartphones)
4. Refresh rate is only inconsistent with the default launcher and ONLY when scrolling through apps. I also noticed this but it is an instant fix with eg. Nova Launcher.
Bad sony optimisations. Expected
5. Haptic feedback is a meme feature. I turned it straight off.
If you have bad haptics like xperia 1 v then yes. On other devices like iphone 15 pro max you would be surprised how good this thing is.
6. Complaining about lack of icon packs etc. is a joke. Just use a third-party launcher like Nova like the rest of us and other icon packs...
Yes. Only true statement of yours.
7. Always On display is garbo. I turned it straight off. It's not recommended on OLED screens anyway...
G4rb0 is your opinion. This device is called smartphone for a reason. Most people don't want to turn on their device. It's like a watch + you can see if you have notifications. Overral cool feature. Btw in most smartphones AOD can be trigged with your finger. I mean touching your screen. So your bad assumption of OLED damage is absurd.
8. The speakers are awesome what are you talking about? They are REAL stereo speakers and the microphones are REAL stereo microphones that blow any other phone anyway. Compared to my Xperia 13 Ultra, I sound underwater on that phone. They might not be the loudest speakers but they are by far the clearest. Besides who even uses phone speakers these days? Get some headphones.
For example pixel AI noise isolation would destroy your "best stereo speakers". Try it then b4rk
9. Bluetooth volume is plenty loud enough but you can increase it even more via Developer Settings.
10. Phone heats up too quickly? What? This has never happened to me and I've had mine 6 months and abused it like crazy in all types of applications.
No you didn't. Sony has the worst thermal design of all snapdragon gen 2 devices. Investigate more. Maybe you don't push your device like other do. I'm glad you don't have this problem.

NeverPayOver1000eur, 10 Mar 2024Says it's USB 3.2 but when plugged into my USB 4 port ... moreare you sure USB 4 is back-compatible with every 3.2 device? Maybe it will transfer faster with a 3.2 cable and 3.2 input on the computer end.
Sometimes 2.0 card readers won't work properly with 3.0 inputs on computers.
Still after 25 years I feel USB is giving me a lot of headaches and compatability issues. Feels like a big experiment :)

Good internal speakers, still have audio jack and front camera is outside of the display. 👍 I have it 3rd week, everything OK. But there is no option to save photo to 48 Mpix. 😕 Maximum possible resolution of the saved image is only 12Mpix.

The major problem with Sony is that it is using the same soundcard (or at least the same design) since 2015, when Sony Xperia Z5 Premium was launched. Back then the soundcard was improved at a rate of 192KBps. Even now, in the year of 2024 is the same rate. Before Xperia Z5 Premium, the rate was put at 128 KBps. Bear in mind that now mobile phones have 384 or even 427 KBps. The tablets have mostly 2 Watts. So, the soundcard of the japanese creators is so outdated.

Rknight93, 10 Mar 2024This is better than iPhone 15 seriesIt's just good, very very good. However, someone's 1V once heated up after one day (the phone always heats up when it downloads and installs updates/firmware in the background) and sent it back, he couldn't load the graphics into AOD and he had a quiet BT which is practically too loud for the XM4/XM5. Then the dwarves came out and started dancing around the pot full of gold.

All-in-all some of the worst arguments against this phone ever. Shame you never had it long enough to get the amazing 4 day long battery life out of it. I've been going hard on this phone taking photos all over the world and with 4K 60fps HDR video I am recording hours and hours worth, over multiple days without even needing a charge.
Finally, having the 3.5mm jack (which you absolutely cannot say is not loud enough), stereo speakers, a proper actual OLED display with proper color calibration. Actual proper "Pro" camera and video etc. This phone is not for you mate. Just buy your point-and-shoot iPhone and be happy. None of us will mind.

That's slower than USB 2.0 speeds.

I've just bought this phone and I'm returning it after a day of use. It has to be one of the biggest disappointments I ever had in a smartphone.
Pros: The main and the ultra-wide cameras are pretty good, there's a lot of settings and tweaks to play around inside the camera app, sleek and lightweight design,
Cons: The telephoto camera is quite underwhelming in darker conditions, no real macro mode, the RAW files aren't very useful since they don't include any kind of HDR bracketing like those from Pixel or iPhone do, performance is inconsistent in regards to the refresh rate, the haptic feedback is too loud, robotic and unsophisticated, the automatic screen brightness is overly jumpy on some occasions, overall customization is severely lacking for a modern Android phone (no icon packs, no different icon shapes, no transparency settings for the app drawer), very basic Always On display customization (only a couple of predefined clocks, no option to put any kind of a graphic or a picture on the AOD), the speakers, while quite good sound quality wise are simply too weak and lifeless when compared to even an older phone like the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, the Bluetooth audio volume is also lower for some reason when compared to my Mi 10 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro Max (especially when it comes to the Youtube application where it's unacceptably low, which can also be said for the speaker volume), the phone itself heats up too quickly, sometimes even while doing basic tasks.
All in all, a very low effort product from Sony, at least in my opinion, especially for its asking price. If your main reason for owning a smartphone is to take photos with it or record videos, than it's certainly a great choice. Otherwise, I advise everyone else to not bother with it at all, no matter how curious you are to find out how things are at the Sony camp in this moment in time.
