Anonymous, 06 Jun 2024I think you should know but... 30 Wats and 120 aren't ... moreI think you should know that 120w charging doesn't hurt the battery. Welcome to 2022 oh it's 2023. Oh oh it's 2024 already! And sony is still with 30w!

No 4k screen, not even 2k. no buy
    That was their USP
but full HD is a kick to the nuts
Could have been the best phone ever with expandable memory and headphone jack but why did they mess it up

"And yes it hurts battery, heat at that wattage does."

Btw sony is charging their battery at 30w too lol. So "heat at that wattage does" hurt the battery lololol.

"Some people like shoddy built design and secret flaws." It's no secret that the price is the biggest flaw of sony, then features, then support for that price.

Whatever is the case, at least Sony is more honest than any Chinese company.
At least I can say that I will buy sony because I like everything it has to offer.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2024Simply it's not a phone for you. Well, I wonder... moreOther people are smarter that's it. Dude bragging about 90w-120w charging speeds and saying battery will hurt lol. Let me teach you a little if you can't use google.

Let's say I have xiaomi new flagship with 90w charging. Battery consists of 3 different cells for example 1800mAh. In total 5400mAh. I insert a type c charger and magic starts to happen. Those 3 cells are charging individually for 30w and in total 90w. What's the magic there? No heat issues, 20minutes~ and I'm ready to go anywhere for the rest of the day. And the best part it doesn't hurt the battery but only sony fans feelings. Maybe if sony smartphones will exist after 10 years you will have 120w charging and then you will praise it lol

Tt2, 05 Jun 2024This phone has lost the slim elegance of Sony. And simil... moreSony phones have only been like that for the last 5-6 years. Prior to that, they had the same aspect ratio as any other phone. I pushed Sony phones prior to the adoption of the 'mark' moniker. Sony's elegance is found in more than the aspect ratio. I truly believe this unorthodox aspect ratio and the smaller order volume is the reason we haven't had a variable refresh screen on a Sony phone since they moved to the 'mark' or mk series.

Other phones have adopted LTPO panels and variable refresh, but not once in a Sony prior to the 1VI. The 5V had a 1080p, but no variable refresh. Reason? The aspect ratio and the resulting cost of requesting a variable refresh with a custom screen with relatively small order numbers.

I think another reason Sony isn't doing as well as other makers, is that they have a fan/hater base that wants some hipster, niche device with niche qualities (which have higher production costs and lower demand) but they also expect it to cost the same or less than competing devices. They think that Sony is making the phone especially for them, and if anything about the spec sheet doesn't meet their exacting standards, that the company should crash and burn, or that it signals the smartphone Apocalypse! You should go read the Xperia reddit, it's wild!

This phone has lost the slim elegance of Sony.

And similarly to 1 V, it will be improved with updates for a year as long as it is usable (despite the fact that they had an identical 1 V before).
Those who want to be different, Sony brand and quality, but ready to compromise and wait more than a year for the phone to work stably, can choose 1VI.

For those who think rationally and are pragmatic, look elsewhere.

Sony should stick with gaming consoles where their business is thriving. The price is extremely extortionate for a 1080P device. This should be around $700. It is very hard to consider where cheaper Chinese phones are infesting the flagship category like a plague with better hardware and pricing.

SonyOverpriced, 04 Jun 2024All the flagships are overpriced. Yep. Especially this one.... moreCharging speeds are designed to maximize battery longevity, and besides, 50% of this phone's battery is equivalent to 75% on another. Software support? I had phones fro OnePlus where I got tons of updates...half of which broke the phone. I value quality of updates over quantity. Nothing about the software update schedule means this phone won't work after 4 years. As for screen brightness, I live in the Sunshine State. My S20 FE with it's sub-900 nits brightness is enough to see outside in the sun.

You rally haven't said anything of substance. If you don't like this phone, then you don't like it. That's ok, as I'm not a fan of Apple products. But stop tying to convince others to hate it just because you do

I'm in the States, and I'm getting this in the next week. I buy all my phones unlocked, so no big deal. They may also mean the phone is missing a couple of the bands for T-Mobile. It's only missing the 4G band 71, which is moot as I've only been connected to this band once (far out in the boondocks), as well as 5G bands n2 (a blessing in disguise as lacking it forces you on the faster n41) and n71 (again, only means anything if you live waaaay out).

A thing to note is that T-Mobile will eventually roll out the even faster n77, which this phone has
