Sony Xperia 1 VII to get Exmor T sensors for all cameras

Sony is anticipated to enhance the camera experience on the Xperia 1 VII greatly. Sources indicated it will incorporate the Exmor T sensor across all three rear cameras, an upgrade from last year's model, which featured this sensor only on the primary camera feature.

The Exmor T is the latest stacked CMOS sensor by Sony with a 2-layer transistor pixel technology. Compared with the decade-old Exmor RS, it greatly lowers noise, improving low-light performance, and boosts the higher dynamic range.

While Sony will enhance the sensor technology, the sensor sizes and megapixels might stay the same, according to the source - 52 MP (48 MP effective) for the main camera, along with 12 MP for the ultrawide and 12 MP for the telephoto.

The last three generations of Xperia 1 flagship models were introduced in the second quarter, and we anticipate that the Mk. VII will also debut in May. We expect more leaks and teasers to emerge soon, revealing more details about the phone.
