I can concur on one of those points tho, the proximity sensor up front should be somewhat closer to earpiece, it does sometimes mess up the screen while Im making a phonecall due to its position.

Rest I dont have any nitpicks. All good.

Xperia 5 II is quite perfectly pocketable, just as my prior 5 inched screen smartphone was, and quite on the contrary a perfect match for one handed use coupled with above 6 inch screen sized phone.

AnonF-964910, 25 Jan 2021Honestly, I really disagree with your points. I find this p... moreLucky you. These are my observations. I'm not a fan boy or smth. All that hype and the phone is average at most.
Photo pro wise- I know every function and what it does as I am photographer myself, but this is mobile phone and I don't want to stand scrolling through the functions to get a decent photo. For that reason I have my proper camera. Sony could work more on native camera app and more decent HDR algorithm.
As for freezing- chrome browser froze twice writing this post.

Glad that your device works good and it does what you expect it to do, but in my case, I can't stop thinking that OnePlus 8 pro would've been way better purchase for basically the same price, with more frequent updates, full spectre of functions etc.

To someone who said that 21:9 screen is bull...- clearly you never used one before, because it is way more usable one handedly than every other brick out there, and you don't loose anything. This screen size was one of the biggest point why I got this phone in the first place.

I've found this phone perfectly usable and just a major box ticker for me. I haven't even recieved any of these so called freezes too.

ISO and Shutterspeed are literally beginner photography terms which even I, a 16 year old can understand. Honestly I don't find the Photo Pro mode that scary.

A bit disappointed... But for the price I paid (£599) I'll keep it for now.

                            What I don't like:

*Google assistant button- absolutely useless. And at the moment you can't assign any other function to it which makes it even more useless.
                            *Proximity sensor- works strange.
*Fingerprint scanner- it's just awful. Previous phone I had was OnePlus 6 and It had way better fingerprint scanner in way more comfortable place.
*Torch light- it is too dim.
*Front camera- no words for that.
*Rear camera not impressive in low light even though on paper it has potential.
                            *Camera app is weak.
*Photo pro and video pro too complicated even for more advanced photographer.
*Battery a bit weak even though GSM Arena endurance test was quite ok.
*Notification sound volume- not loud enough, quite weak actually. Very annoying!
*Software freezes quite often and I am not a very heavy user.
*Pre installed Call of Duty which I can't uninstall
*120Hz display... Hard to notice any difference in action, but definitely drains battery faster.
*No original case in the box. Very few decent ones on the market as well. Same applies to screen protectors- haven't found one which won't obstruct some of the usable screen.
*Gesture control is only one option- google one. OnePlus gesture control works better IMHO.

                            What I like:

*Size- it is compact in the world of huge bricks
*Rear camera is decent in good light, autofocus and object tracking are impressive.
*Sound from the speakers- after OnePlus 6 its like day and night.
*LED notification light- that's a plus for me.
*3.5mm jack- even though I have Sony XM4 headphones, it's good to know that I can use them when they are discharged, or use my amazing old school wired headphones.
                            *Near stock Android experience

All in all it's a decent phone for what I paid for it, but after OnePlus 6 I don't see much of improvement. Well... Definitely not software wise or even speed wise. Actually I keep asking myself why I bought it in the first place...
