One of the reasons this is my 5th xperia is fingerprint sensor on the side. I gave XA2 to my dad because of this. And I think that this is one of the features which makes xperia to be xperia. I do not understand when nonsony users want to make xperias the same as every other smartphone on the market - why would I want to buy xperia then when there is no difference to others..

Fingerprint is user preference but for me on the side is much more approriate than on the back as its easier to access. Never had issues of accidental multiple touches to the point of soft locking it. You probably bad memory if you forget where it is.
Otherwise youre making things up just to bash Sony & not actually own one.

Easily the worst Sony phone I've owned, and I've been buying them since the Sony Ericcson days. Random freezes and crashes, wifi that works when it wants, Android 11 update was awful but 12 is turning out to be just as bad.
With Android 10 the phone wouldn't jump on to the mobile network when wifi was out of range, so if I didn't pay attention, I would have no signal at all and then would have to toggle in and out of airplane mode just to get the mobile network. This went away with the update to Android 11, but now the update to Android 12 it will be connected to wifi, show a strong signal and just won't run. Also, instead of just being able to switch wifi on and off with one button, it's not a 3 step process.
Moving the thumbprint reader back to the side means that anytime I touch the phone regardless of which finger or even my hand, it's sensing it, so I will look at the phone and see I have made too many attempts and have to use my passcode. They should never have moved it from the rear of the phone after changing it before.

I tried 5II with some usb-c dock with hdmi and other outputs and I can see phone screen on my lcd using hdmi cable.

Please help me, I plan to buy this phone as second handed and I read the specs on sony website and it says that USB-C 3.1 port have video out function.. but here, GSMA says there's no video out..??

I love the update except for screenshotting, which is now impossible to do one-handed. An infuriating step backwards.

I wish I did not upgrade to android 12 :(. It works but looks terrible! Only if I knew this would happened. 11 downgraded the topdown menu to to only 6 icons, now 12 downgrades to 4 big blocks. Settings looks like on my workphone - Samsung.
Is it possible to downgrade or disable this new theme?

wabwkd, 10 Mar 2022Just got Android 12 yesterday, working great.worst update. Try to make capture screen, even top sliding menu looks like step backward. Only camera works better.
