What about Xperia 1, Mark 5 or other available sony options??
Does that also have green lines issues ? I am thinking to buy one, for its compact size and premium in hand feel

Fred, 13 Nov 2025Green line king Why Sony?To be fair, it's not limited to Sony, happens with any other brand using similar panel.
And we may often hear about older Samsung panel with this issue though it's not limited to it either.
It's usually caused by heat, which makes the panel cable lose, or so I heard.

Owned since Nov2022. After 3yrs, upgrading to 5 IV only because I've dropped this so many times that my GPS antenna no longer grabs satellites. Still fine otherwise. Keeping it as my backup. I've owned Sony phones for over 15 years now. The specs and build are far superior to Samsung, and up until the 17 Pro, even the iPhones. I recommend the aluminum frame models, as I have broken a plastic one once. For this model, in Oct2025, I would place it in the $400 range. I just ordered the 5 IV for $475. Hope this helps & welcome to Sony.... you're one of us now!!

W sam, 14 Sep 2025Got it for 150$ in used Everything gone fine for 5 months... moreThere ya go.
But it's not a huge damage as you paid only $150 for it.
Just think that you gained some experience, so you will pick better one next time.
In general, avoid most of Sony phones as they still use old Sam panel with green or pink lines issues.
One Plus also has this issue on similar Sam panel, but they just upgraded it to the other Chinese panel with better stability.
Chinese tech is better these days while bac then it was horrible

Its pathetic for a big company like Sony to charge hundreds of dollars for premium phones that come with built in manufacturing defecfs like poor connector cables that cause green lines on amoleds. To make matters worst they haven't came with a free of cost repair or replacement program but you have to shell out your money to replace the screen.

I'm using this for 8 months almost, stuck on android 13 since & no update whatsoever so no lines etc, performance is good but heavy type gaming or task makes this one susceptible to toasting, otherwise ok.

Mine is the Japan set (S0G05) model, but I checked the device info app, and it said my phone supports 5G, so it's possible. Plus, I never tested it because my Celcom/Digi SIM card is outdated, only supports 4G/Volte, so I need to upgrade. To me, why bother if 4g works just fine? I mostly use Wifi anyway.

Almost 2 month after having this phone, so far so good. I got it used from marketplace, live in Malaysia so is warm outside. The condition of the phone I got had barely any scratchs, almost perfect except single green line at far right of the screen, I got it for cheap too, Rm300. So far the line haven't spread yet, I set the screen 60Hz and not playing games to preventing the lines to spread. Using the phone mostly for msg, and entertainment like YouTube and movies. The camera can get hot but I solve it by lower the brightness to 20% or so. The battery health I got have 80% or more so it's great could last more than a day if moderate use and that's without Stamina mode, my biggest gripe is the charging speed, it's so slow but manageable. The signal reception my sim can only use 4g so it's no big deal, it stuck at 3 bars and never full. One last thing is the fingerprint, it's still work to this day. That's the summary for Xperia 5 III, I will follow up this after a month or so.
