                    1) change zoom state of camera
                    2) change resolution of display

Not going into details, but modern battery charging technology has got you covered.

It will burn the battery out quicker, which can't be replaced, but is it really necessary at all? I have the 5 ii which has a battery life extender built in, it only charges the phone up to 80% to prolong its lifespan.

I'm not a heavy user but I've never used over 50% in a day so an overnight to up us perfectly fine. I would have given up fast charging for wireless charging if I could have, I think the latter would have been far more useful for most people.

                          Nothing unique about Sony's offering.

You should compare the Xperia 5 ii and the Xperia 10 ii. The latter is half the price, looks identical and really isn't that much different overall. I wish now that I'd saved my money and bought the 10 ii.

Fantastic phones though, best I've had in years but no wireless charging and disappointed to see its still not included here, especially as many new cars have charging pads built in

This is a really good compact flagship.

Sony did well on improving the battery capacity and finally adopted a faster charging of 30W.

The main camera, although not bad needed an upgrade.

But the overall package is definitely better than the regular S21.

I couldn't care le... moreYou keep forgetting that Sony phones have a dedicated shutterbutton on the side, so you can easily shoot your mugshots in high quality with the verastile camera system on the back of the phone. Not quite possible on other phones as you have software shutter only on front screen. If videocalling is needed, that front cam is quite sufficient.
Only addition I see worth considering selfie shooting on Xperias, would be a tiny back screen for compesition overlook, like on that Xiaomi. Otherwise no need for cramming selfie cameras on front, as we have that superconvenient shutterbutton on the side.
