Props to Sony for still making flagships with a headphone jack and microsd slot. Shame they still have software limitations compared to other brands, you can't put the back button on the right(I don't care for gestures), you can't entirely block an apps access to the internet and there are few updates. Also, as much as I like Sony's approach to photography I wish they would include a larger sensor with a higher mpx count at this price, too many micro details get lost at 12mpx. Sony still gets closest to the perfect phone but it's hard to justify the price when considering the shortcomings.

Probably Zenfone because of 8+gen1, unless you really need that SD-card slot. I have the Zenfone myself and I've been super happy with it

I'm attracted to sony phones but many problems
Like overpricing they think it's meant for the rich people but they don't even buy it
Software is very weak I got an xperia 10 iv I expected to see many sony replacement to Google like other companies which are really in business. There was a time I opened news suite saw an app shortcut as samsung does in samsung free, I was excited that sony has hidden app store in here but I got news on apps very bad I expected sony services, Sony apps that are replacement to Google's apps because it's software felt like pixel 6 and it does not give u a reason to buy this when Google pixel makes the same thing may be for a better price
And marketing I live in cameroon as of now and on TV samsung advertises their products on Ghanaian channels mostly, Tecno, huawei and many others. Many people are fans of five phone brands : Apple, Google, Samsung, Huawei and xiaomi if sony marketed and made their own user interface, who knows it could be a different story about sony today

Still overheat even after throtl... moreExcuse me, in sony was just 1 CASE of burning in that z2 case.. not like in samsung note 7 , millions of phones returned and canceled! You can't compare 1 CASE with the samsung situation! I read the article... there are lots of informations missing.. So again, don't compare them! I have lots of sony ericssons and xperia phones! Not even 1 with problems [i have xz1, xz2, z2, xz premium]! So it's a very rare situaiton that one,, and is fishie too.. you can't consider the danger like with the samsung phones!

Just purchased Xperia 5 IV in Finland that replaces my still good Xperia 5. I had the same dilemma - the newest Xperia or the newest IPhone 14 Pro. I decided to get Xperia. I got used to its 21:9 ratio which is very good in my opinion and 120 Hz screen is a great upgrade from my Xperia 5. Lots of other improvements that makes the Mark IV a great choice.

does anyone one consider the fact that sony sell xperia phones cheaper then samsung and happy. sony left the Australian market in 2017 properly because of tax reasons and anti consumer time on supporting their devices however compared to any phone I have had my sony phones dont have battery pregnancy like samsung and if sony wanted to step up in the market they need to upgrade and battery to compete with Asus ROG phone line 6000 mah with 16-18 Ram they also need to consider making some exclusive returns of triple A games for sony phones only like resident evil and metal gear solid
