Crossing fingers it will have 3.5mm jack...... Will be my next upgrade phone after years of using my Galaxy S7 as I've been wanting to try other brand phone excluding chinese ones.

I see almost no downsides to this phone. The selfie-camera will likely be sub-par due to its size, which is one of the more minor details. But the main cameras, screen, thickness (for more battery), power button/fingerprint combo, MicroSD and bringing back the jack... This one's tickling me the right way. I'm glad I held off on the Xperia 1 and 5.

Sony can not make them work.
It has 12Mp, you need more than 32 to do 8K.
Also, no mobile image sensor is capable of 8K.

Coming from an Apple user, this phone may have potential to be successful. With front facing speakers and headphone jack, this will please the Sony and Non-Sony Xperia fans. I hope that Sony can improve on the camera image processing and support apps with 21:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, Sony should add 4K 60fps and even 8k 30fps. By the way, the ram may not be 6GB. Based on rumors, the ram could be doubled the size. Unfortunately, not a lot of people are going to buy this phone.

This is the first Sony phone over all those years I think have potential. Its camera system design is more thoughtful than that of Samsung S20 Ultra which is quite impressive in itself. In this design I see a good foundation for a future smartphone-based cine camera system. I hope other phone makers take a cue from here. This is a significant point of departure for future smartphone camera systems. Many years in the future, people will come back to this design and say, this is where all have started.

Reason batteries from Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi etc lose more capacity within one year.

Why does Sony not use Li-Pol for a lighter, tougher battery? This phone might be kinda heavy.
But I must admit this phone is almost feature-perfect. Indians would love it. It won't sell a single unit in China unfortunately, which is a shame because it'd be great for the Chinese market for many reasons.
I hope this phone has the prestige of Apple or Samsung, as Sony traditionally has had. It seems to deserve it.
