Bought the phone and used for couple days. One big issue bothering me is the 3.5mm jack that not powerful enough for larger driver headphones, I use Sennheiser overhead headphones and they are very low volume, other and older devices were much better, like ipad with dongle and even Samsung S10.

No, we are not talking about the same thing. It is noticeable even with the dark theme and very noticeable with black&white pictures, where some grays change colour at the slightest angle. Just to give you an idea, if I put an Xperia 10 II aside, whites and reading in general is miles better. Clearly, they (or they supplier - Samsung?) forgot about quality controls with this mk5. It's a shame for such pricey phone.

They have removed the notification led light this time, which was a unique feature.

If you record it with a camera or camcorder, you will see the color banding, but in real life it is practically invisible at all. It's like recording clouding and blooming on TVs - the camera will always exaggerate this effect.

I was using Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Asus and Google Pixel.
I did use Pixel because of GrapheneOS (available only on this garbage). GrapheneOS is a GREAT operation system, but the device experience is killing me. I can't! Anymore. I did hope Pixel8 will be nice, I did try ad shop. A bit better then 7 but...
I found Sony Xperia 5 V
Beautiful device, nice quality
I did compare it with Xperia 1 V and for me that one is to big.
Screan in 5V looks nice, I did compare side by side with 1 V
I think they use glass not plastic on the screen, but glass. For sure better for eyes and better in touch.
Clean softwer unfortunately Facebook is already installed! And can't uninstall it ! The app can be only stopped. So to have control app like RethinkDNS is needed or InviziblePro, other then that all nice.
Remember! Camera works without IA - so the picture are reall and you should now how to use the app, some base knowledge about photography can bring you amazing result.
Fingerprints work's on the side into the bottom, this works better then shi* in the screen.

Tested that phone for about week and display is fine without any artifacts and color shifts. One of the best HDR display, much better than XZ3 screen (for HDR content).

It's not just white, it's also pictures with a lot of grey areas. I would love it but the screen is so bad that in the end is way worse than the cheapest phone out there. I don't know whether to wait for the mk6 or try again. But buying and returning is a big hassle.

It's true, have the same problem with mine BUT seems not all 5 V's have the banding/rainbow problem. I read a couple of reviews that don't mention it and few on Reddit said theirs doesn't have it

I bought one of these and returned it after a few days. I wanted to love it, but the screen had terrible colour banding which was especially noticeable on white — waves of blue and pink rainbow effect even when looking directly at it, and worse when the phone was even on a slight angle. I don't understand why Sony put such a sub-par screen in this phone, and I've only seen one review mention it. Other comments on reddit indicate I'm not the only one though. It's frustrating, this ticks all the boxes for me but I couldn't put up with such a cheap screen.
