Always had sony phones but sadly, wont be go back.
Sadly my phone overheated so much i had to return it. Also was not able to block numbers. Camera took great photos in good light but the quality of photos taken in poor lighting was pathetic. Charging cable was way too short.

i am a sony lover:).i have used acro s,sp,sola and now e4..what i feel about sony phones are they are very user friendly..and e4 is and excellent phone in this price.go for it.:)

First of all I have this phone for over 6 months, and overall its a good phone in its price range, maybe the best, but comparing it with Note 2 and 3 is just ridiculous, and I think you didnt even own those phones, and if you did you would never downgrade to E4. But samsung core phones, I can believe that, but it doesnt even come close to note series.
Camera on this phone is barely average, in low light it produces very bad photos and videos, even in the daytime it doesnt shine in that department, there is always some yellowish tint in the photos and noticable granulation even with very steady hand, the flash is more useful as a flashlight than for taking pictures. My 2,5 years old LG L9 has a one class better camera performance, the front camera is ok.
Display is also very average, but its a 5 incher, so its ok overall, nothing to whine about in that department.
Voice calling loudness and quality is on the better side but only after you turn on clear phase and other sound enhancers, which use a bit more battery juice, which is not good, but its only loud enough, far from "outstanding" as you said.
Phone's software performance is pretty stable, but I noticed that when using some apps like swi.tkey, it tends to slowdown, but not that much.
Another thing i dont like in all sony phones is that you CAN NOT change the order of the homescreens in the helicopter view, and on this model you dont even have anywhere to see the total call time(s) of the phone, which is very weird and immature from sony, there is no usb otg also.
You mentioned quality of the charging cable, but why didnt you mention its length which is about only 10 cm, another minus, and the quality of the headphones included is mediocre at best, but at least there is one.
And did I mention there is no LP update in sight in near future, how about that?
Only things that are really commendable are the battery, the audio (music reproduction) quality of the device, LED notification and the STAMINA mode, so there you go, an objective view of the phone, not some fanboy's view.
It's worth the money you spend on it, that's all, faaaar from outstanding.

I used Note 3, 2, grand prime, core prime and j series phone of samsung.
First time i brought sony phone and i would like to tell you that this phone is amazing.
Voice quality is outstanding and who can compete sony in display. Touch is highly sensitive.
Camera is very good
I would suggest to buy this model rather than buying Samsung J1, J2 even J5, grand prime, core prime and other cheap quality phones.
Another good thing i observed in this phone is that you only need to close the app and your RAM will be free. No need to install RAM cleaner and boosters like samsung.
And yes Handsfree is also very good I never saw samsung providing such a good quality charging cable even with S4, 5, 6.
I am a basic user. i use my phone for Whatsapp, Mail, Viber, Skype,Facebook, youtube and some News applications.
10/10 for this phone. Sony you r best.

I really hope that someone can help me. So I have Sony Xperia e4 for like a month and everything was perfect untill one week ago when alarms stopped working. In the beggining i didn't realize that and i thought that i am just sleeping deep and i don't hear them one day i decided to try the alarms out and i set an alarm for 10:00 and the time was 09:59 i waited a minute and when she passed the alarm still didn't rang and i pushed the power button and even without unlocking the phone the alarm rang but it already was 10:02. So if i dont push the power button the alarm wont ring.

Good phone.. but the only issue I am facing is battery drainage.. I used continousely with multioperation, like playing music and the playing/ using internet battery get drainef in 2-2.5 hrs... Other wise its good for worth and brand.
