Okkkk !! wh... morehey bud..lumia series are nothing but a kind of disappointment..if you compare the tft screen used by old Ericsson, recent xperia series has much better tft screen quality ..bravia engine doesn't matter as the phone performs much better without it..sony has stopped bravia engine in some of it's mid range devices n that doesn't matter anymore...as per RAM unlike windows, Android freezes apps if it is running out of ram so 1GB ram is more than enough to run any kind of multi-task without any issue...lol for your information low legacy devices which runs on low ram might lag a bit but if you compare lumia having no life struggles like hell to process apps at times I felt this issue n switched to android..for your info m getting battery backup of 2 days without any issue...oh you forgot to mention few more options available in xperia L right..this device is playstation certified n having OTG support..according to some website this device might be even uplifted to 4.4 kitkat which requires less ram...android simply is freedom which you can't get in windows..you may need third party apps to modify your device but windows in a nut shell a hell no..lumia series doesn't even provide value for money...so it's xperia L anytime anyday that beats any midrange device..

Windows Phone 8 is the second version of Windows Phone OS but Jellybean is the tenth version of android OS.... In case of android no. of apps do matter as apps are 3rd party which may help you modifying your phone... but Windows Phone 8 doesn't allow 3rd apps to modify to that extent ( 1st party means OS 2nd party default system applications) ...

No Life for Windows phones here in upcoming future. Lumia and all just for a showcase. Never go fore Lumia kind of confusing useless phones.

wh... moreIt's Mobile Bravia Engine 1 whose settings can't be controlled nor be adjusted... Only Mobile Bravia Engine 2 settings can be controlled and adjusted... Lumia 720 is at points better than XPERIA L as it is a hardy phone, with more batrery backup, It's camera capturing is to an extent better than the camera of XPERIA L ( If you have the problem of shaking hands during capturing, You need to adjust the camera of XPERIA L to get true 8MP cam performance as the default setting sucks but you can never compare 8MP with a lesser pixel camera), XPERIA L has Sony XLOUD AUDIO and LUMIA 720 has DOLBY SURROUND audio... as it is a Windows phone RAM is not a factor as after you minimise an app or program it pauses and gets stored in the ROM of the phone while in case of Android the app continuesy running in the background and occupies the RAM... I have a XPERIA L and also a LUMIA 720 ... If you are a professional ( engineer or businessman) I will suggest you to buy LUMIA 720... But android is for the common men...
Now If you come to the processor both has Snapdragon S4 Plus processor but XPERIA L has a better version..
Windows Phone 8 is good but not as good as Android Jellybean...
XPERIA L is Play Station Certified device which can support XBOX ... So If battery backup is your problem and you are a professional you may go for NOKIA LUMIA 720.. Otherwise Its better for you to go for android as Android is freedom.... moreover for buying a phone only display can't be a factor.... If you are out in the sun switch on the backlight of XPERIA L and using a matte finish screenguard will eliminate your problem in viewing the screen in sunlight...
So for buying both has positive and negative points with XPERIA having a bit more Positive points...
speaking about a PC with intel i5 processor and windows 8 just after you start the PC It takes a bit time to load the programs but if you dont allow your PC to do that and start working with your PC ias soon as it starts it will surely lag in it's speed and hang for a minute or 2.. same happens for android at athe beginning and Lumia 720 also otherwise XPERIA L works faster than 720....

Android 1 GB RAM compulsory while playing Games
Windows 512 RAM..is sufficiant..
windows is much better than android..
Its Fast and smooth...
Android is hangy pangy...
Also Lumia 720 Is Best Camera Ever in Mid range..
Its 6.1 MP Camera. But Its better than 8 MP camera..
Check on Youtube... 720 Beats Galaxy s4 I phone 5.. S3.. HTC one in low light...
And one more thing.
Lumia 720 Has A Huge Batery Backup... 60 Hours Backup..
Xperia L only 39 Hrs..
If u want a lot of apps..
Then go for xperia l..
But if u want Gud camera. Great Batery... Apps doesn't matter.
Then go for Lumia 720..

Sony XPERIA L is the best of all phones at this price range except its 8MP shooter camera which sucks as if your hand shakes a bit the whole image gets spoiled.. I am going to purchase a SONY CyberShot DSC QX10 a 18 MP cam which I will pair with NFC and WiFi and use the PlayMemories Mobile app and fix it in the backbof my XPERIA L using its spring loaded brackets to increase the camera quality

It is using one of the best processors Snapdragon S4 plus.. if a small dot has appeared please take your phone to the sony centre and complain about it showing your warranty card... they will surely find a way out to repair it... :) thanks :)
