AnonD-43284, 07 Aug 2013Ahh my bad. I think i'll go with XL, since i don't want to ... moreThe Battery part,

The battery used is Lithium Polymer battery, its an advancement to the Lithium Ion battery,
and unlike the older batteries, u should not recharge it for a 6-7 hrs as most shopkeepers tell.
Also u need not recharge it to 100%.

What i do is , i charge when the battery level drops to 20-30% and charge it till 90%. And i also make sure that i dont overcharge the battery ( ie. leave the phone for charging beyond 100%) as it affects battery life.

And Discharging the battery is also not required for Li-polymer and Li-ion batteries. ( but if u want to do it ,do it once/twice a year :D)

AnonD-43284, 07 Aug 2013Ahh my bad. I think i'll go with XL, since i don't want to ... moreOhk dude, i'll explain it....bt before tht i'ld add that, wat the guy "signashoes007" said is correct and i'll elaborate more on what he said. I guess this will remove ur confusion.

            Just consider this,
Storage is divided into 2 parts
            1) Phone memory [ Device Memory (1.57 GB)+ Internal Storage (4.01 GB)]
            2) External Storage ( Ur SD card)

Xperia L has a total of 8 GB "Phone memory"

            Now u know that,
Phone Memory (8 GB)= Device Memory (1.57 GB) + Internal Storage (4.01 GB)

But u'll think now , the Device memory (1.57 GB) and Internal Storage (4.01 GB) when combined adds up to 5.58 GB only, where did the rest go....as the total memory should be 8 GB.

Ans is, the rest (2.xx GB approx) is consumed by the Jelly bean OS (In computer, Windows 7 consumes around 16-20 GB of ur Hard-drive , same as that here Jellybean consumes 2.xx GB of ur "Phone memory" )
I guess ur clear with the Jellybean part now.

Now the Phone memory is divided into 2 part as i told earlier,

            1) >Device Memory< (1.57 GB): Basically the User wont be able to access this part ( unless he roots the phone ) Its hidden from the outside world. U cant share or modify the data that is present here.

By default , the Apps are installed here and it contains some media items. These things cant be accessed (unless u root the phone).
Now by default if u download any Apps, its stored in this area. but what if the Apps downloaded are a bit big ( eg. Real Racing 3 ,its 1.38 GB) what android does is, it saves the some App code in the "Device memory" and moves the rest of the code to the Internal Storage ( 4.01 GB)

U can move the Downloaded/Existing Apps to "Internal Storage" through settings if ur "Phone memory" fills up.
But thing is even though a major part of the App is moved to the "Internal Storage" a part of it still exists in the "Phone memory"

But the main point is Apps occupy the "Device memory" and this memory part is in accessible.

            2) > Internal Storage < (4.01 GB) : This is same as your "External storage", Its "User Accessible" and u can save your Media files, Docs etc here in addition to the Apps ( For Apps u downloaded or that is there by default)
And Even if the App is present in "Internal Storage", a part of it will be also there in "Phone Memory"
[ U cant install the entire App into "Internal storage" alone, but some part of the App will be there on "phone memory" too | this is the main point ]

            3) External Storage (SD card) : Its same as your Internal Storage but only difference is , there is > No Apps " here.
You cant move the Apps u install/present by default to "External Storage". ( Apps and its data can reside only in Device memory and Internal Storage)

By default Andorid ( from ICS onwards ) dosent allow to save Apps or its App data in External Storage.

            So,
            1) Device memory : Entire APP or atleast some part of an APP + Media Files ( both Inaccessible, unless u root it)
            2) Internal Storage: Majority Part of an App ( with some part of it in Device Memory ) + Media files
            3) External Storage : Media Files

When u plug ur Phone to ur PC, u can see both "Internal Storage" and "External Storage" , as only these two areas support "USER" data transfer

            I hope u r clear now...:D

I have my own XL in this week, so i can say this to you,

                      advantage XL than XP:

                      "Great Experience" gaming
                      xLoud
                      Card Slot

                      HDR
New product, new hardware software edition(for example bluetooth 4.0 vs 2.1, etc)

                      advantage XP than XL:
                      "Better" Camera(Rear, front, 1080p video)
                      LED, "Great" ppi density

                      - Timescape UI
                      Gyroscope

note:XP has worst battery, Non-removable Li-Ion 1305 mAh battery so be calm

A guy was talking about Phone memory and Internal memory separately, whats the d/f ? Since you own the phone i think you can answer this properly

and what do you suggest when and how many hours should we charge new phone ? If we should wait for the phone to completely run out of power and than charge for the first time or out of the box ?
