I am Big samsung lover I used this Xperia L few days and the conclusion is:
* Processing speed - Excellent compare with Grand and Core
* Battery back up - Good
* Music through speaker - Excellent
* Touch response - Butter smooth
* Internet speed - Ok
* Hang or Lags - None
* Camera - Average
* Sunlight visibility - Good
* Display clarity - Poor
* Incoming Voice clarity - Poor
But overall quality wise Samsung is the winner because Samsung is giving all these qualities with lesser price than Sony.

My Xperia L not getting charge quickly due to this default charger (The one comes with box) so I used Samsung original charger its charging My Xperia L quickly, So its clearly proves Samsung is best.

Hey friends I am using this phone for the last 6 months. But I haven't faced even a single issue.. This phone is really awesome in this price range. Good camera and battery backup and really nice while gaming. Hats off to Sony Xperia L

You s... morefor gaming you may want to have a bigger screen, Xperia SP or Z had price drops now, but xperia L has around 5.8gb available memory for games and apps, also the phone doesn't lag in gaming, I played a lot of games on this phone and i didn't notice any lag or slowness. phone is awesome.
