Jane , 13 May 2017I'm using this phone too in almost 1yr my prob is I can't u... moreYou have to try factory reset, on backup and reset menu. Before that, you have to backup all data on your M4 Aqua. Then, reset within battery more than 80 percents condition. After restarting, and back to default, please uninstall unnecessary apps you want. Don't update few google apps product or else, it just ruin out of your storage. Then, after uninstall few apps, your storage will increase. Not many, maybe just 3,2 GB average. Then you can install apss you want, and notice some apps that can be move to sdcard to keep your internal storage from out of space. Good luck.

It's a decent phone, I've tried marshmallow and it has a bad sound. So I went back to lollipop 🍭 and rooted the phone so that I can remove apps I don't use and increase the memory.

Awful phone. Simply awful.
Even though the RAM and processing power are decent, who puts 8gb internal memory, of which less than 3 is usable? I mean seriously.
Aside from that, the SD card can't be used as an internal memory. All this makes the phone slow as a snail. Each time I need to upgrade application, i need to delete other one to free space.
Additionally, the camera is pretty bad, and the battery life is too low. Not to mention it takes hours to be fully charged.
Awful phone, do not consider buying it. Not worth the money. There are much better low budget phones out there.

I have an Xperia M4 Aqua Commercial and journalist (1293-4994) and it's stuck on Android 5.0, can't be updated to 6.0 even with pc companion (it says the device has the latest software). I want to know if I can flash a different operator software via flash tool. Help!

I have this device from its first week of release and still no problems (and i am using it for games very much ,over 5-6 hours per day) , about the heating issue ...after 1,5 years the battery lost 10-15% total power and at the same time the device does not overheat anymore , the battery has a problem not the device itself , too much power for a slim battery causes the overheat ...

my m4 aqua dual didn't even lasted 1.5 yrs..it's totally dead. was having heating problem from beggining,moreover this set is not repairable...means once any hardware problem arises it's a scrap.
also it's restarting problem began just after my warranty failed
don't purchase it ..i suggest
if u r a sony lover then better go for xa dual in this price range.

My phone did not even last a year . I wouldnt recommend it yo anyone to buy a sony . Consider Samsung or huawei

I've had it for about an year (since my previous Z3 compact broke its screen for the 2nd time).
This was easily in the top 3 of worst mobiles I've had in my life (taking into account comparable phones of its time). The 8GB memory limitation is a nightmare. It has come to a point where I only have whatsapp installed in my phone.
It finally broke up this weekend, and I'm replacing it for an XA1 - perhaps repeating the mistake. Let's hope not

I am very unhappy with the Xperia M4. This phone has been repaired twice under warranty as there is a problem with recharge function. Even after being repaired twice under warranty Sony would not replace the phone. The phone has again lost its recharge function. It is a lemon and I will not be buying another Sony mobile phone after their poor customer service.
