That should speak for itself. Those ranting here, such as myself, are not just making it up. You can look for the best specs and features for the best price. Ultimately, a mobile phone needs to be on all the time. Otherwise, it's not much different from a fixed phone ( land line). Someone here wrote that the provider may be the problem. And it could be the location specific. That could be true, but it's your gamble. I have had several Sony phones. None have let me down like this one.

        Can someone please give a very honest paragraph describing Sony Xperia M5? How would you review it? I am planning to buy this phone very soon and I hope you guys could help. How good is the battery? How about the cameras? I would appreciate it if you guys were to balance (if possible) the arguments.
        Because I am thinking to either purchase Sony Xperia M5 or Lenovo Vibe Shot

            some issue for me, sometimes application shut down automatically I have no idea what's going on, then automatic sleep after idle sometimes not working the screen never turned off after idle...hope will better after marshmallow upgrade...

              İ bought it from turkey it also same issue. Sudenly shut down. İt is a big chronic issues. Sony have to stop selling. And get pay mony.

Bought the phone less than a week a go, nothing but giving me problems. It switches itself off and overheated, even when i wasn't running any application on the background. The phone is so laggy, and switched off itself often when running music or video streaming apps such as spotify and youtube. every morning it won't even receive any cellular or data from cell-provider. Only after switching off and on then the data comes back on the screen. On the fifth day, the camera isn't working. I am referring to the main camera app, not the the third party camera app. It says: 'ERROR' Camera isn't available. Its been the 7th day now. I've tried all the tricks suggested on Google, but this still not working. To tell the truth, i am a bit skeptical to believe that Sony is still making a reliable electronic products especially in smartphones industry.

                      Did you Update all updates on your M5?
                      And did you get a nano sim card from your service provider or did you have to cut your sim to make it a nano?

                      Because i had this issue 2 times already and this is my 3rd handset and i followed the instruction from a service provider and 3 week now and the phone is working perfect.

                        What a piece of crap - first one started automatic shut down five days from purchase - MTN swapped it and yesterday the new handset went down on day 8!!!! This now means no 7 day swap.
                        Never ever will i recommend ANY sony product to anybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest Sony leave the market and start manufacturing anything else than electronic devices!!!!!

                          This has been pure shit, if I may say so. I bought it saturday a week a go and on sunday it shut down and have not been able to start it again after that. Now it is in the service and seems to have some real problems in it. It is DOA-case and I will have a new phone. Have no idea is it going to be just another shitSony, hope not, because I have no any trust left to this one.

                          Here in Finland there is a rumor going around that sony will stop selling these. Is that thrue, that I don´t know, but maybe today or tomorrow will be wiser.

                            This phone sucks. It's been in the service center for weeks because of the shutdown issue. I purchased an unusable phone with a bad service provision.

My bf's bought one and after 9 days it kept shut... moreMy boyfriend is having the same problem, he's thinking he might just have to buy a Samsung separately because on his plan (since everyone who has one is having no problems with theirs) but he still has to pay it off for the next two years and he only just got it maybe 2 weeks ago. Sony appears to over priced rubbish from what I've read on this phone alone.

                                  i experienced the same thing with regards to auto shutdown.. i have to connect it wthe charger even if i knew that there is still a battrey left.. oooh sony! whats happening!

                                    Sony will probably update the device to marshmallow in March or April. Then the auto shut down problem will be solved.

                                      I am perches sony m5 dual in nov. month and not any extra 3rd party app.when I am using this mobile.my mobile switch off in day 4 to 5 times. I am contact in sony CC they told me use safe mode. I am use safe mode again same issue. I am try switch on but device not switch on.when I am connect chager that time device switch ON...I am, not happy with this sony M5
